Can at the Chriso’s May tasting, London. It pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is malty, lightly sweet, light roasted notes. Taste is medium sweet upfront with some caramel tones, then more bitter with wood and roasted notes. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, a tad watery. Overall, not great but not offensive either

Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Leighton for the cambodia tick. Opaque black / caramel coloured pour with a tan head. Aroma is sweet caraeml , toffeer and light berry. Flavour is caramel, sweet, nutty malts, milky and slight salted chocolate. Palate is sweet and lactose milky. Not half bad, i was expecting a lot worse, but the ferment is pretty good. Maybe a little under attenuated.

Can shared at the chriso May 2014 tasting - London. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy tan head. Good nose, with dark malts and milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with rich chocolate character, dark fruits, faint earthy bitterness, baking cocoa. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with good, rounded chocolate flavors and low bitterness. Very solid, actually.

Can thanks to Leighton. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is roasty, liquorice, umami, dark chocolate, salted caramel and earth. The taste is rich, toasty, treacle, sweet malt, caramel, earth, cocoa and a touch of spice with dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Actually not bad...

It was my first time to try this Phnom Penh Stout, the taste is very comparable to ABC Extra Stout, and the price is very reasonable (Only $12 per carton, while ABC is $27 per carton). It truly replenishes my energy from a very tired day. I drank 4 cans last evening and I can feel myself so energetic. I strongly recommend you to try this tasteful Stout.
