skortila (2385), Bunnik, Netherlands Mar 24, 2008 Bottled. Aroma of german hops, caramel malts, butterscotch. Hazy, brown coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet with a lot of malts. Bit siruppy. Medium bodied. Okay beer.
caesar (2475), Zeist, Netherlands Mar 27, 2008 Bottled. Hazy brown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, slight roasted, german hops, which give it the typical wurzig/herbal character of a German beer. Too bad, this doesn’t fit too good with a dutch style dark bock, which is usually a bit sweet. And so is this bock. So, it’s a bit of a mix between a german dunkel and a sweet dutch bockbeer. jbrus (4086), Delft, Netherlands Feb 17, 2008 Bottle@Home. Dusty malts and toffee aroma. Very dark brown, small beige diminishing head, no lace. Lots of dark malts in the flavor, light sweet, bitter, toffee and butterscotch. Typical German style bock. OllieBBommel (36), Netherlands Dec 3, 2007 Quickly vanishing head, dark red coloring. Smells of roasted coffee. Nice taste with chocolates and some bitters. Good palate which lingers. Nice brew, 1st dark bock from the brewmaster. bierkoning (4669), La Tropica, Netherlands Nov 7, 2007 Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malty, slight flowery creamy aroma. Malty sweet flavor, medium bodied, with chocolate and hints of roasted malt and raisin. Excellent balance, and quite pleasant to drink. Always good to see a Dutch classic back on the market, even though it is brewed in Bavaria.
