3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hand pulled pint in the local (Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire) on 6th April 2012. This is a regular guest around Shropshire and I was surprised I hadn’t reviewed it before.
Light golden body (almost lager-like) with a thinning white head.
Aroma a mini-mix of mild malty molasses and citrusy hops: they come and go in the breeze interchanging as they go.
The taste is also a mix of the same flavours in the smell: the beer becoming a little more bitter towards the end of each sip.
Looks weaker than it is: good depth of flavours with an alcohol content that suits it.

On tap. Pale golden colour. Metallic aroma, some fruit in the taste and some vinegar too. Not great. It got better as it heat up, but it really wasn’t fantastic. I can’t say I enjoyed it much.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2013 Low but unappealing aroma, but an unexpectedly nice malty taste to this ale.

The aroma and the taste is rather thin with notes of caramel malt, fruit and hops. Easy to drink with a pleasant dry hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

On cask at Cloisters. Light golden ale with a thin white head. Yeasty, caramel nose and flavours with a funky apple cider flavour that lingers. Very dry which I like.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask @ Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club, Hampshire. Delightful beer, very pale golden appearance with pleasant citrus overtones and a flavour characterised by a hint of dry hopping in the brew. Definite refreshing qualities and despite being quite light, it is is deceivingly flavourful and full bodied. Very drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Dark yellow with a bubbly off-white head & some lacing. Light, toasty, caramel malts & lemony, grassy hop aromas. A drop of strawberry comes through towards the end. Very mild initial toffee flavours up front giving way to earthy malts & leafy, grassy, pithy hops with a mild tang. Some carbonation, mostly soft on a light-medium body with a lingering finish.
