Hand pulled cask ale, half at Fall Well (JDW). Unclear golden coloured body. Faint white head that laced well. Dusty hops to the nose as well as hints of honey sweetness. Lemony hops to the flavour character added by hints of citrus shells leading to a dry, bittersweet ending. Food friendly partner to the breakfast (Liverpool, 09.04.2013).

Full body with a deep taste associated with Phoenix, and has a nice glow in the glass.

Courtesy of Benjii. Crystal sweetness with a comfortable pillowy white head. Twine yellow body. Very tightly bound fruit elements, highlights of hubba bubba ending on palate. Almost Buckfast kick level sugar of hit on the second sip. Very crisp carbonation but not much room underneath for the crisp hop to develop but a solid session bitter. (Cask, Cloisters)

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of fruity yeast, caramel and grassy hops. Similar flavours. Mild carbonation, an oily mouth-feel and a dry finish. Quite bitter also. Not bad.

tombyars (1316) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2012
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque orange amber in colour with a thin white head. Sweet honey notes linger in the creamy aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malt base gives a digestive biscuit base with warming clear honey and golden syrup notes present. Dusty spicy hops compliment the malt well in the floral aftertaste. Dryness increases towards the finish with alcoholic mead flavours giving a warming kick to the back of the throat. The best Golden Ale in the extensive portfolio and a decent session beer.
