500 ml can. Grass smell, nasty. Amber color with a white low head. Decent pattern. Tasted better than expected. Kind of sweet, but with a terrible metallic aftertaste. Supermarket lagers are the worst thing that have happened to humankind. Imagine a world with the same amout of beer, but without supermarket lagers. That’s paradise, men.

@ Sandy Bay, Cyprus. Can (330 ml) from local supermarket (€ 0.75). Sweet and malty with notes of grass and straw, light body with a watery texture. The finish is dry and bitter with malty notes.

Took me a while to find it as it says Phoenix Brewery Holland on the label but now I added the barcode so the next generations can find it easier.
Can 330 m, bought at a kiosk in Thessaloniki and brought home, in order to pour it in a lager glass and drink it on its proper temperature. The ABV is 5%
Deep golden yellow colour on the body, with a small and thin white head, average retention, minimal lacing on the glass.
Stale aroma like it has stayed an eternity in the can but it’s only 6 months since made. Lots of malts and some old hay.
Quite sweet, again lots of malts, dirty hay, metal notes, a bit of wet cornflakes.
Medium thin body, high carbonation.
Not the best out there, I wonder who brings this swill in Greece when we are capable of making our own.

Can. Tried in Cyprus September 2013. Quite refreshing in the intensive and wonderful heat of Cyprus. Worth trying again-I mean Cyprus not the beer.

Pours your typical pale golden with a smallish, quickly dissipating head. Some cereal in the nose, but overall nothing there. Not offensive is all I can say about this.

0,5L can. No considerable aroma. Stained watery taste. Sour and little hops coming. Probably not quality. Watery stuff. No way.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml tin in Cyprus, polishing off the last few pages of ’Cannery Row’. Dark yellow with a fast-shrinking uneven foam lining the glass. Lemon sherbet, slight thistle, mildly phosphoric aroma. Buttered cracker, almond, raw cabbage and coriander seed impressions on the palate. Relatively clean, un-metallic, unsullied by glue...as compared to the majority of kitten-beating island offerings. Hint of nougat. Actually drinkable: not a quality that can be assumed in any pale lager stumbled upon in the eastern Mediterranean.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Can at Hole in the Wall, Sliema, Malta. Pours golden with a small white head. Another standard industrial pale lager. Sweet and malty as most of them. Hint of cooked vegetable, but fairly decent. Sweet and lightly malty with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but very boring. (2012-09-22)
