Cask at The Waters Green Tavern, Macclesfield. Gold / amber, thick white head, good lacing. The usual kind of beer Brian get’s into the Waters Green but tasty enough to pile a few away for sure. Bitter citrus hops, some malts. Not really enough to get the motors running but still nice enough.

Presumably, this is Phoenix’s rendition of an Autumn ale, but it retains the typically hoppy Phoenix style. Amber colour. Fragrant, with a citric bitterness in the flavour, but some malt backbone too. Lasting, dry finish, with more malt coming through. Another excellent effort from Phoenix. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston.
