A high end strong beer and very popular with customers. Not my type as it is on the sweet side which you do find with many strong ales

Cask. Bronze ale with a thick light tan head. Nose is tea, light toffee, lemon. Taste is... Pungent! Lots of tea, bitter (off) citrus, toffee, apple... There’s something I’m not quite digging here, but its interesting enough.

Spoonsfest #43, The Square Peg, Birmingham, 13/04/14. Veiled bronze under a tight white drum of head. Nose of rye, dried fruit, malt loaf. Decent, slightly Oaked, slightly bilious brown bread, dates and marzipan-hinting flavour. Corsodyl hints; dabs of anaesthetic. A bit flabby and neutral but decent enough.

Hand-pulled pint in La Cracke, Liverpool on 7th Feb 2014: this is the regular ’best bitter’ in here. Pours an amber golden colour with an off-white topping. Sweet malty molasses hit the nose and taste buds: this isn’t a hoppy brew. Bob gets wobbly from the maltiness within the 6% ABV of the beer. This is a most enjoyable drink, if like me, you are fond of semi-sweet beers that hide the hop content almost completely, allowing them to appear towards the finish so that the beer has a mini-dry and bitter end to each sip. Full bodied and far too easy to drink.
