This full-flavoured pale ale provides a complex taste experience, beginning with notes of nuts and toffee and ending in lingering hop bitterness.

Thank you Kevin for sending me this. Dark reddish-orange pour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, earthy hops. Taste is the same. A nice bitter overall. OK lacing.

Pours a nice clear copper colour. Pretty good lasting head and great lacing. The taste is sweet breadiness and biscuits. It has a smooth floral taste. Pretty good, I’d have it again

Really well balanced and sessionable. Pours a hazy brown with a thick white head. The aroma is well malted with tons of caramel and toffee. Nutty malts in the middle with a light spicy hop. A bit thin in the body. The finish has a moderate bitterness and light astringency.

A decent ale, toasted malts and a light roasted nutty flavour. Smooth and easy to drink. Not bad.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of toffee and maybe nuts. Hazy amber with white head. Medium bitter taste. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, with a slight bitter finish. Overall a nice bitter brew.

Bottle from the Brewery shop in Fredericton. Pours a fairly clear deep amber color with a decent sized bubbly frothy off white head that persists for a while. Aromas of toffee and caramel with hints of earthy hop and a touch of mineral water, fruit, and butterscotch. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent bitter, again heavy on the diacetyl.

I’ve had this beer on tap and in the bottle and, although I have had a few good ones, more often than not it is very sour with lots of buttery diacetyl. Date code was not that old, and it was stored cold, so it sounds like a sanitation issue at the brewery. With such a high level of diacetyl, I would not be surprised if Picaroons is rushing their beer thru fermentation straight to market.

500ml brown bottle. Red orange pour, looks clear. Beige foam, creamy, good lacing. Aroma has big caramel malts. Taste has caramel and toffee malts with a bit of citrusy and earthy hop. Bitterness isn’t quite where I would like it, but overall a good effort.

500ml bottle pours an amber color with a 2 finger off-white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy with hints of caramel. Taste is a grassy hop bitterness with a light fruity and malty sweetness. A light to medium bodied brew with moderate carbonation. Definitely, on the lower end of the scale for this style.
