COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hearty meat ‘n’ potatoes Irish-style ale. Its malty sweetness coats the palate like candy, and is offset in the finish with spicy Goldings hops.

Mildred’s Irish Ale is the Irish Red dry-hopped with local Goldings hops from Southan Farms.

500 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany red with an average, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, fruit, caramel and yeast. Sweet flavour of fruit, caramel and roasted malt with a mild bitter finish. Medium body with a watery texture and mild carbonation. Pretty decent.

Thanks to my friend Nic for bringing this one back from his East Coast trip. Second Irish Ale of the day. Pours a clean copper-amber colour with a big frothy warm beige head that lasts very long creating some thick foamy-creamy lace. Caramel nose with lost of spices. Again, caramel malt taste with some sourness (probably from not being fresh). Medium-light oily body. Much better than the one I had earlier. Have to try a fresh one when I visit.

Probably one of the better amber ales I have had. Nice and smooth, very nice malty flavours.

Light looking body. Crisp red. Thin head. Light aroma is more potato than meat. Thin body, old taste.

Bottle from the brewery store in Fredericton. Pours a beautifully clear reddish amber color with a decent sized frothy tan head that shows great retention. Aromas of caramel and toffee with a hint of earthy hops. Diacetyl rest, what’s that? The flavor is rich and malty with lots of caramel, butterscotch and toffee. Burnt sugar and light earthy hop flavor to counter the maltiness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. The diacetyl fits a bit better with this style than some of the others I’ve had from them, a bit too much for my palette.

500ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger and a half of beige head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by caramel with some grass and spice. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with a light grass and spicy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. A decent brew for the style, but nothing really stands out.

pours hazy copper with a nice beige head, good retention and lacing. spices and caramel, yeast, cloying molasses, some fruitiness, earthy. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, herbal-grassy-spicy short finish. meh.

Pours a clear dark red with a nice ig cream off white head that leaves tons of lace. Smell is some caramel and sweet fruit with a hint of roasted malt. Taste is a huge hit of sweet roasted malt up front with a bit of fruit on the finish and a very faint hop presence. Great beer.
