3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This porter poured a deep black colour with a big, bold, tan coloured head. Light lacing with scents of caramal, coffee, cloves and a faint hint of vanilla. First sip was smooth and flavourful but not as thick a mouthfeel as expected. Flavours of coffee, molassass and burnt brown sugar most prodominant. Finish is extra malty with coffee flavour lingering with a light hop taste. Very nice!

Draft in Moncton. Deep amber maroon color, tan head. Aroma of cola, cocoa. Taste is slightly sour butterscotch. Hmmm.

Gotta love that sweet pooch on the front. Porters really would be a mans best friend if they could. Very dark brown with a tan head and smelling of mocha, cream and caramel. It’s bittersweet with coffee, smoke and fruit being prominent. I really enjoyed this mid-mouthfeel Porter.

Bottle. I always enjoy Picaroons labels, and this reminded me of my late pooch. A nice roasted malt aroma. It tasted of coffee and toasted nuts, and maybe a little molasses. A nice medium bodied brew with little head. Not a bad little porter.

Nice dark colour, pretty minimal head, very pleasant taste... medium body, well-balanced overall.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pas mauvaise mais rien de spécial dans cette bière. La torréfaction et le niveau de sucre sont très bien par contre.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Pours a dark, dark, dark brown with a red hue and a two finger tan head. Aroma is cocoa, dried fruit, a faint note that makes me think pecan pie, and light notes of molasses, ash, coffee, caramel, and a little bit of alcohol. Taste starts sweet with molasses, and cocoa notes, followed by some light caramel, and a nice espresso like bitterness in the finish. Other than being slightly lighter in body, this is a solid pint, and if I could, I would definitely buy it again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours light brown-ruby with a nice light beige head, good retention and lacing. fruity and chocolatey, bit of minerals, hint of soy and lactic acid, brettiness (happened a few times with bottled picaroons). average carbonation, almost prickly, light body - almost watery, dry bitter coffee finish. a decent offering.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle from NB Liquor. Even though I’m not a fan of the style, I can understand why people would like or even love this beer. Pours a black colour with a nice head that quickly fades away. Aroma is not necessarily nice at first, but more complex by the minute. Worth a try.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with a tan head that lasts. Weird sour coffee on the nose with something....green. Strange. The same kind of weirdness on the palate. The body is too light. Not as much of a mess taste wise but there’s really nothing going on.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Large bottle from VITI @ The Met in New West. Pours black with a generous tan head. A nice balance of malt, a bit of fruitiness and very noticeable bitterness; the bitterness resulting from the heavy roasting of the malts, not from hops. A very nice porter.
