The classic Irish-style dry stout is the basic background of this aromatic ebony elixir but deviations may occur from batch to batch as we improvisationally wander through variations on the theme.

Large bottle from VITI @ The Met Liquor Store in New West. Pitch black, with a tan head. Malts on the nose. Tastes of well roasted malts, with some bitterness noted. Finish is bitter-sweet. A nice dry stout.

Not sure I like this part of the commercial deScription: "deviations may occur from batch to batch as we improvisationally wander through variations on the theme". This suggests that ratings may not mean much over time. I think they’re just being up front about something that many micro enterprises do, but don’t like to talk about.

500 ml bottle. Pours black with full dark tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate and coffee. Thin coffee flavor with notes of ash and burnt malt. Oily with little depth.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a med brown coloured head. To the nose there are scents of coffee, caramel, cocoa and a little vanilla. First sip was full flavoured with tastes of coffee, caramel and roasty malts. Finish was really burnt with black coffee flavours lingering.

Pours a black colour with almost no head. The aroma is bitter dark chocolate and light coffee. flavour is a little thin with a light bitterness and a bit of sourness. not sure if its a bad bottle or just not that good

Jet black colour with thin tan head. Diacetyl nose. Vinegary and diacetyl taste with sour finish. Worst beer I have ever had. Only reason I gave it a 5 was because of appearance otherwise a complete ZERO.

Bottle thanks to my dad. Very dark brown with lasting mocha head but not much lace. Roasty nose has some coffee and smoke. Medium bodied, fairly bitter with almost no sweetness. Bitter coffee like finish with lengthy bitter finish. Good stuff.

500mL bottle to glass beer stein Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and corn with barnyard odors. The colour is dark brown/black with a 3cm brown head that settles to 1cm. Taste is roasted or burnt malts, strong coffee, and bitter melon. Surprisingly this is a bit watery too.
