Bottle - rusty brown with a medium head. Earthy hop aroma and earthy dank taste. A little too earthy for me.

50 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada. via Coop. Hazy apricot amber appearance, thin head. Great aroma, nectarine and minty hops. Smooth, creamy, more stone fruit and a cardamom pepper finish. Much better than I’d expected.

Great sprakling orange body with huge, puffy white head. The aroma is bursting with citrus fruits. A bit of a caramel malt with nice sweet grapefruit and citrus hops. The finish is astringent and sticky with mild pine resin flavours. Overall, a good IPA!

Pours golden and hazy, with a foamy off white head. Good retention, some lacing. Aroma is faint, hints of citrus, pine, and resin. Taste is resinous and bitter, fading into a jumble of long lingering notes of fruit and citrus. Light body. Carbonation is on the soft side, slightly sticky texture, long and mildly bitter finish. Not bad, but fairly tame as far as IPA’s go.

Not much smell. Hazy pour, pretty standard. Nothing special here. Some malty flavors and some mediocre hops.

500ml brown bottle. Golden with haze. Big creamy whitish cap that is long lasting. Lots of lacing. Nose has bright orange peels, pink gum and mixed floral notes. Taste has orange peel, lots of caramel. Bitterness comes on late leading into an citrusy aftertaste (orange peels and grapefruit). Medium body with mild carbonation. Certainly not an agressively hopped IPA, but nice anyway.

500ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with pine and citrus with some grainy notes. Taste is a grainy malty sweetness with a grapefruit and pine hop bitterness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Seems to be a pretty nice IPA, not sure on the low scores, maybe the bottle is better than on tap.

Tap sample at the source. Slightly hazy medium golden color with a smallish off white head that persists for a good long time. Aromas of butterscotch are front and center and kind of ruin this one for me. Moderate earthy pine and citrus with a bit of caramel to back it up. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a bitter burnt sugary mouthfeel. Too much diacetyl for my palette

Acebulf (6) - - JUN 29, 2014 does not count
The beer pours amber with an off-white head with coarse bubbles that disappear quite quickly. It smells of citrus and freshness. Taste is of a definite hop backend, well balanced with malty sweetness. There is, however, little depth in the flavour. Medium-to-high bitterness (as far as IPAs go). Overall, not a bad IPA, but a bit too lacking in the flavour depth.

OOKPIKABLE (118) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 5, 2014
This beer seems to want to be an IPA, but aroma and flavour are really lacking. Tastes like a mix between an IPA and a pilsner. Not all bad, but a disappointment.
