An East Coast-style India Pale Ale that weaves intense hop bitterness and aroma throughout a blanket of malt background. This beer may change slightly from batch to batch as we explore the various interpretations of the style.

Pours a darker copper colour with a nice head and lacing. Taste is of caramel, herbal, citrus and spruce. Coats the the mouth with the spruce too heavily. Almost like I am eating flower stems. Not to my liking.

500ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange, copper pour, with a big white head. Aroma is very grassy, and herbaceous. Notes of dried tea leaves, hay, and dr s cut grass with some light pine. The body and carb are just perfect. The finish is quite bitter, with alot of pine resin and grasses, but still retains its slight spice and herbaciousness.

Aroma is citrus, lemon grass, caramel , and light earthiness. Taste is sweet roasty caramel with hints of bourbon, oak and balanced very well by clove and citrus. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Bottle. Fairly subtle citrus aroma. Pours light golden in colour, slightly cloudy, with a reasonable off-white head. Caramel flavour with some underlying hoppy bitterness and strong malt presence. Medium bodied. A bit more bitterness in the finish. Drinkable IPA.

500ml bottle shared with Jo and Seb. Thanks dad for grabbing. Aroma: biscuits, caramel and some light tropical fruits. App: hazy copper, small minimal white head. Taste and palate: medium body, resinous, clean shy and short bitter finish. Overall: not good. Probably not fresh, lacks in fruity aroma and flavors. Shy bitter finish. Dp

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2015 Not an intensely hoppy or bitter IPA but there’s an enjoyable balanced character here. Not bad.

Bottle. Cloudy burnt orange colour, thin white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, a strange overripe melon note. Flavour is lightly bitter, a little sweet, not a lot going on. Pretty light and mild IPA.

ENG: 500ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, poured into the IPA glass. Orange to copper, opalescent color, small, white head. Aromas of malts, caramel, toffee, honey. Tastes caramelly, malty. Bitter in the aftertaste. Low to medium carbonation, medium body. Overall quite decent British-style IPA, nicely bitter, but on sweety, malty profile.
