4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 mojorisn (26) - - FEB 23, 2013
Having this imported pint now in February. First had it last summer on vacation. They say right on the bottle they might vary batch to batch. Well if they’re looking for a keeper this would prolly be it. I’m trying to think of an IPA that is DEFINITELY better than this, but it is right up there with my favourites. In the summer I wasn’t as taken aback, but I still loved it. Nice syrupy mouthfeel, with an intense bitterness. A lotta bitter actually, nice pine outburst, and medicinal hop punch. The IBUS must be high. Too bad we don’t know. BTW I really love the picture for this on this site; a bottle holder sculpted freeform out of the neighbouring surroundings of the brewery i can assume. True Maritime form. YIPPEE IPA!

A 50 cl bottle from The Met Liquor Store in New West. Medium reddish amber color with a bit of whitish head. Bitter citrus hops and caramel on the nose. This is confirmed on tasting. A very well balanced beer. 3.5.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 andrewturba (456) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 10, 2012
Pours a nice clean copper with white head and nice sticky lace. Smells of sweet malty aromas. Tastes of mild citrus bitterness, malty caramel flavors with a hint of booze. Decent beer but by the style not top of its class for sure.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reimer96 (594) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 10, 2012
Pours a clear reddish copper color with a frothy off white head that dissipates quickly but leaves a lot of sticky lace. Smells of toffee and caramel with some citrus. Taste is a big punch of malts up front and then a nice smooth bitterness on the finish. Seems like a hybrid between an American and English ipa.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 AlainG (633) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 26, 2012
(Batch 1938-Embout.18-07-12) (312-130812)
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2012
Bottle from The Met Liquor Store, New Westminster, BC Amber color, hazy, with creamy head. Mild aroma of caramel, butter, earth, manure. It has a round mouthfeel, a good caramel and toffee flavor, with evident but not disturbing butter, bold bitterness, and a good share of hop resins; it also has a limited fruity contribution from the hop. Long final. A solid brew, bold, pleasant, with a personal character.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dfearnley (326) - Alberta, CANADA - JUL 30, 2012
500mL bottle to glass stein
Grapefruit and pine, caramel malts, a bit bready in the head. Slightly cloudy amber with a nice long lasting tan head. Malts are the predominant flavour but the piney bitterness comes through nicely. It's more malty than I'm used to with an IPA, but pretty tasty nonetheless.
