An East Coast-style India Pale Ale that weaves intense hop bitterness and aroma throughout a blanket of malt background. This beer may change slightly from batch to batch as we explore the various interpretations of the style.

Having this imported pint now in February. First had it last summer on vacation. They say right on the bottle they might vary batch to batch. Well if they’re looking for a keeper this would prolly be it. I’m trying to think of an IPA that is DEFINITELY better than this, but it is right up there with my favourites. In the summer I wasn’t as taken aback, but I still loved it. Nice syrupy mouthfeel, with an intense bitterness. A lotta bitter actually, nice pine outburst, and medicinal hop punch. The IBUS must be high. Too bad we don’t know. BTW I really love the picture for this on this site; a bottle holder sculpted freeform out of the neighbouring surroundings of the brewery i can assume. True Maritime form. YIPPEE IPA!

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2015 Not an intensely hoppy or bitter IPA but there’s an enjoyable balanced character here. Not bad.

Bottle. Cloudy burnt orange colour, thin white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, a strange overripe melon note. Flavour is lightly bitter, a little sweet, not a lot going on. Pretty light and mild IPA.

ENG: 500ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, poured into the IPA glass. Orange to copper, opalescent color, small, white head. Aromas of malts, caramel, toffee, honey. Tastes caramelly, malty. Bitter in the aftertaste. Low to medium carbonation, medium body. Overall quite decent British-style IPA, nicely bitter, but on sweety, malty profile.

PL: Butelka 500ml zakupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg, przelana do IPA glass. Barwa pomarańczowo-miedziana, opalizująca, piana jasna, niewielka. Aromaty słodowe, karmelowe, toffi, miodowe. W smaku karmel, słód. W posmaku goryczka. Niskie do średniego wysycenie, średnie odczucie w ustach. Podsumowując całkiem smaczne IPA w stylu brytyjskim, przyjemnie goryczkowe, o słodkawym, słodowym charakterze.

Pours a cloudy burnt orange. Aromas some citrus. Flavours are quite malty.. Definitely a hop presence.. But more in the British IPA style. I found this somewhat boring.

Bottle - rusty brown with a medium head. Earthy hop aroma and earthy dank taste. A little too earthy for me.

50 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada. via Coop. Hazy apricot amber appearance, thin head. Great aroma, nectarine and minty hops. Smooth, creamy, more stone fruit and a cardamom pepper finish. Much better than I’d expected.

Great sprakling orange body with huge, puffy white head. The aroma is bursting with citrus fruits. A bit of a caramel malt with nice sweet grapefruit and citrus hops. The finish is astringent and sticky with mild pine resin flavours. Overall, a good IPA!

Pours golden and hazy, with a foamy off white head. Good retention, some lacing. Aroma is faint, hints of citrus, pine, and resin. Taste is resinous and bitter, fading into a jumble of long lingering notes of fruit and citrus. Light body. Carbonation is on the soft side, slightly sticky texture, long and mildly bitter finish. Not bad, but fairly tame as far as IPA’s go.

Not much smell. Hazy pour, pretty standard. Nothing special here. Some malty flavors and some mediocre hops.
