thebeertourist (2459), Oslo, Norway Dec 3, 2006 75 cl bottle bought at Salone del Gusto. Cork comes off with a bang and out pours an enormous and seemingly unstoppable foam and underneath the hazy, pale yellow beer. The aroma is very fruity with oranges and coriander. Flavours are tart and fruity, but with good bitterness, especially towards the finish. Medium body. An exciting saison from Italy- the use of the bitter chinotto peel integrates well.
michael-pollack (2192), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2009 750ml Bottle: Aroma of fruit, yeast, light spices, pepper, slight coriander, slight grass, paper, and a hint of citrus. Poured amber/apple juice in color with a large, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Moderately cloudy. Sparkling. Full of medium-sized particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, light fruits, spices, juniper, chinotto, slight nectar, and paper. Light to medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Yeasty, spiced, finish is dry. Oakes (7618), Bamberg, Germany Feb 25, 2009 Flat pour. Beige-yellow colour. No real nose, light herbs maybe. Woody, grapey, herbal taste. Flat but refreshing. Moderate herbal finish. mgermani (810), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 23, 2009 Pours a cloudy dull orange with a brief loose-bubbled head. Aroma of pear and dried turkish apricot. Saisonish, notes of quince and tangy chinotto, but overall quite mild. A bit of horse-blanket, but not much. Complex finish - needs a touch more citrus to really bring out the chinotto. Thin body with decent carbonation. Interesting and complex but watery and thin and a bit lacking. Beershine (2268), Bamberg, Germany Feb 21, 2009 Gold with slight haze and no head. Harsh phenolic aroma is strange and reminiscent of malt liquor. Redeeming qualities include a slight citrus bitterness. Juicy body with low carbonation. Tastes much better than it smells, and has a nice dry finish and a good grainy character and ended up liking it alright. daknole (2143), Plantation, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2009 Bottle at Funky Buddha/Case and Keg tasting. One of my least favorite beers of the night. A cloudy yellow with a hint of orange color. Aroma is weird. Herbs, earthy tones, old wood...not good. Flavor reminds me of a macro lager. Just bitter and really poor. willblake (2133), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Jan 23, 2009 20070729 Tap at Ebenezer’s. Bronzed golden color with sudsy white head, not at all attractive. Herbal aromas, a bit musty. Very oaky, chardonnay vinous, dominant wood. Palate is slick with a long sweet, herby finish. DougShoemaker (2830), Toronto, Canada Dec 12, 2008 Winter Welcome Toronto.
Aroma of spicy fruit, apricot in colour, pours a good sized fading white head. Taste is citrus, malt, light bodied., drying. Quite nice. Travlr (470), Washington, Washington DC, USA Dec 11, 2008 Cloudy straw colored with medium white head. Aroma of light spice and malt. Flavor of apricots and orange. Interesting, and better than most Italian brews.
