Cask @ the Crown Inn, Stockport. First beer of my Manc visit and a hard act to follow. Pale gold with a fluffy white head. The conditioning was amazing, just a slight swirl and the glass went white. Grassy hops and tropical fruits in the nose, some sweetness. Taste is a full on bitter hop assault with citrus, tropical fruits and subtle malt undertones that add body and depth. Excellent lip smackingly dry finish, great mouthfeel and good length, gives Brewers Gold a run for it’s money IMHO. One of my top picks of the trip in one of my favorite pubs of the trip also...

Fantastic clean pale gold colour with an excellent white head and lace and that characteristic Pictish snowstorm when swilled. Awesome grassy, floral and wonderfully aromatic hoppage in the aroma with some lovely vanillary sweetness. Gobsmacking hops in the mouth. Again floral and grassy and almost resinous but stops just short. Amazing citric fruitiness with a dry, bitter lemon finish. This has once again confirmed for me that Pictish make some of the best hoppy session beers in the world. Refined, amazingly fresh and elegant. Utterly outstanding.

Gravicask at The Bricklayers Arms Lancashire Fest, 14th Sept 2007. Clear gold appearance. Very fruity aroma with flowery hop notes. Hops dominate the taste but there are interesting tobacco hints too. Full bodied with a rich sweetness. Very enjoyable.

Cask gravity at Bedford Beer Festival ’07. Gold with a small white head. Floral hop aroma and rounded malty taste. Crisp bitter finish. A busy, interesting beer.

Blackfriers. Pouring incredibly high, like 1/3rd pint wastage per pint and thats after 2 1/2 days venting, however beautful apperance. Arma is very hoppy, dry bittering hop grassy hints of hay and lime zest. Taste is attack of bittering hop, pluckering exciting mouthfeel, very dry and very drinkable.

Cask@GBBF, 2006. Syrupy looking golden beer with an orangey fruity aroma. The flavour is quite hopped and bitter. Overall an average beer.

Cask, GBBF 06. Golden with a small bubbly head. Aromas are lots of nice sweet hops. Spicy with lemon and some floral notes. Flavours are biscuit malts with dry, fruity lemon. Peppery towards the finish. A slightly dull golden ale.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 2 Aug) Colour is golden with green tinges, small head. Nose is hoppy with citrus (grapefruit, lemon) and a dominant grassy hop aroma. Taste is fruity, hoppy and grassy with grapefruit and lemon. Balanced sweetness, light to medium body. Long bitter finish with a nice citrussy hop character. Very nice.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Banbury BF. A golden coloured beer with a nice hoppy aroma with good lemon notes but also a little creamy character. The taste is also filled with citrus hoppiness but again there’s a little sweet creaminess which tended to spoil a touch. Still good though.
