COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - May.

A full bodied, rich, dark Mild. Roast barley flavours dominate the palate and lead to a subtle well balanced finish.

Nice clear mahogany with a bit of head. Aroma of roast, toast, and coffee, with some bitter chocolate notes. Taste it roasty, toasty, and so damn drinkable that I finished half a glass in one swallow.

Cask at the CP&K, 22/06/16. Mahogany brown with a well appointed beige cap. Nose is tobacco, earthy, dark fruit esters, ageing wood. Taste comprises brown bread, tobacco, faint cherry skins, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light dryness in the close. Decent mild.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a thin head. Very mild tasting with light roasted malts evident in both its aroma and taste.

Cask conditioned handpump Market Porter London 16/05/13. A near black beer with an off-white head. Light roast throughout. Very mild indeed. Edging towards sweet. A bit of veg. Quite plain as milds were a few years ago but nowadays milds have lots more about them for better or worse.

Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Some interesting rum and raisin dark chocolate character, with a small tartness, however the roasted barley adds a roasty bitterness and gives a dry finish.

Cask, Bacchus, Newcastle. A slightly thinner mild than I like, but still, a tasty brew. Slightly juicy, a hint of grain and a bit of smokiness in there. I’d like to have seen a bit more body to it though.

Handpulled cask at Lower Red Lion, St. Albans. Almost black with a proud head made up of large bubbles. Very bitter for a mild with a grainy, roasted flavour.
