A strong, pale golden coloured ale. Full malt flavours lead to an intensely bitter finish and powerful hop aroma.

On cask @ the Stockbridge Tap. Pours golden with a light haze and a nice head. The nose is of yeast and flowers. The taste confirms the flowers but also brings forward some lemon notes. The palate is light to medium in body with a light creamy texture and a dry clean finish. Overall, it’s refreshing but maybe the finish is a little too hoppy for a session ale.

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a light golden colour with a decent white head. A lovely aroma of lemon, pine, pineapple and caramel. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Tasty.

Cask, handpump at The Kings Head, Huddersfield Railway Station, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire 23.04.11 Pours gold with a white head. This is full flavoured in mouth citrus and also a real tropical element to this, nice bitterness perserveres. Good stuff. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at the Magpie, pours gold with a mid-coarse fluffy white head, lots of grassy hop on the nose plus a hint of lemon. An initial faintly apple and grape sweetness very swiftly turns into a crisp and astringent body, with a sharply dry bitter finish. Nice, but would be more refreshing if the aftertaste wasn’t verging on the harsh.

Cask handpull, The Angel, Manchester. Resolving gold with a nitro-like top. Soft grassiness, tropical smudges, butter and lemon. Not treated well. Slightly green, sweet lemon sherbet and grape aroma with a hint of rubber. Some kids sat around the piano jamming to ’Buddy Holly’, which is a song that still makes me smile. Good bitterness and lemon zest. Death by sparkler. Onwards...

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 20/4/08. Golden coloured with next to no head. Grapefruit and grass hop aromas. Slightly sweet malt flavours before the citrus hops kicked in, culminating in along, dry finish. Another well-balanced Pictish beer.
