A light beer with some sweetness in aroma from the hayish malt. Very clear liquid, pale colour and white head. Light sweetness. Lively carbonation, light - bodied. Feels like it has less alcohol than it actually has.

500ml bottle. Clear golden color. Medium size, thick white head, stays. Sour, metallic, honey in aroma. Grainy, sweet, malty taste. Slick mouthfeel. Sweet malts in aftertaste. Simple lager.

Bottle. Clear pale/golden with minimal white head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet a bit overwhelming taste. Dry. Oily texture that sticks on the roof of the mouth for a while, light body, average carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. Drinkable, but I wouldn’t say that I enjoyed it as much as I would like to.

Blechhh...nasty off-putting aroma, astringent and slightly hoppy with more twisted dry nastiness. a bit of yeast reflecting the "unpasteurized" on the label, but blechhh regardless

First aroma is vomit, than comes canned peas, than ... well no, it shouldn’t be beer aroma. Weird is that after some time aroma stabilizes in tolerable hops semisweet tones. Pours pale amber, small cap. Taste not bad - some sweetness from malt, mild bitter from hops, a bit bready. Although a bit rice in flavor too. Light body, watery mouthfeel, above medium carbonation. In conclusion - will not suggest this to my enemy too.

0,5l glass. Aroma is weak and soft hoppy. Taste is the same, but no bitterness in it. Aftertaste is not long in being hoppy, but that pure bitterness stays and its long.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2013 Pale golden with medium to thin white head. Disappearing quite fast. Aroma.. mostly malts, bit grainy and grassy Waterly with unpleasant metallic notes. Not the worst beer, thou if theres choice from other Piebalgas, I would put this away. ......................................... UPDATE on tap from Jaunpiebalga.. awesome brew no metallic no bad sideffects.. malty enjoyable sweetish but balanced on tap goes 3.5, bottle supermarket 2.1

Bottled (from Rimi, Riga, BB 02/2010)
Clear yellow color, huge white cloudy head. Unclean buttery-diacetylic nose with some kind of metallic, grassy and earthy notes. Taste is similar, but actually it is not so bad: this beer has some Czech character with butterness and some hops. I could call this even a pilsner. Unfortunately lots of unclean flavors too.

Bottle, 5.2%. Clear golden colour. Small lacy white head. The flavour has a little spicy hoppiness. OK mouthfeel.

500ml Bottle - Golden in colour with a small white head. Malty and grainy aroma with some bready notes. Bittersweet malty taste with a lingering but not overwhelming finish. Not bad and drinkable.
