This traditionally brewed award winning Kolsch bier is straw colored crisp and refreshing similar to a lager in many respects but is actually a light German ale.

Pale yellow pour, flat taste, barely an aroma beyond cheap malt. Doesn’t taste better than it looks or smells. Do yourself a favor and order anything else they brew, it’s a million times better.

Draft at the brewery, served in a nonic pint glass. Pours a clear, slightly cloudy gold color with a small white head. Notes of straw, grass, pale and crackery and almost bready, doughy malts, and a spritz of lemon. Light-bodied, with a malty, dry, crisp mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice example of the style. Refreshing on a hot summer day.

Super pale straw color, no head. Pretty mellow nose, some light hay, some floral notes. Nice slight bitterness, more sweet. Very light body. Reasonably lively. Fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kolsch don't excite me. Not much flavor and kind of like a pilsner. They do it well here and it pours yellow like apple juice. Not much odor and is easy to drink. Had at piece ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Piece. Even lighter and paler than the Singel. Filtered pale yellow tan. Buttery diacetyl aroma. Quite poor for the style. This is really shabby, off.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of pale and dough malts, light floral hops, and some bread. Flavor the same. Average to light texture. A decent beer.

From notes. Part of a draft flight at piece. Kinda plain and watery. A bit boozy, but drinkable.

7/27/2010: Piece Golden Arm... Aroma: Generic grains, dusty. Appearance: Definitely golden in color, transparent complexion; thin crown of white foam; not much visible carbonation; average lacing. Flavor: Weak, wet grains; toasty finish; bread crust. Palate: Medium-light body; thin and a touch watery. Overall: Blah! Pass...

Growler. Unfortuneately this beer gets pushed out waay too hard. Batch I got was one of the better ones. An extremely sessionable beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, golden-yellow colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is lightly sweetened, grainy and biscuity malts with a decent straw and grassy hopping. Touches of citrus and spice in there as well. Flavor is better. Some grassy hops throughout with a crisp, lightly sweetened, grainy malt backing. A light bread, hints of citrus, and a touch of straw before this finishes fairly dry, lightly bitter, crisp, and clean before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Light body and a slightly above moderate carbonation. Overall, a nice beer that goes really well with pizza. Crisp, clean, and lightly bitter. Not bad.
