Pours very golden with a whitish light head. Smell is bready, lagery maltiness and slighty sweet. Taste is on the sweet malty side and is very crisp, refreshing and bubbly. Very easy drinking and a pretty damn good kolsch, I thought. Solid beer.

Got a growler with their Sunday Special. Split the pizza and growler with the GF. Served in a pilsner glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow with a lively and bubbly body. A one finger pure white head forms on the pours and recedes to thin collar. Pretty standard. S: Standard kolsch yeast with a light grassy hop flavor profile, pale malts and little hay. T: The kolsch yeast hits you in the mouth right away and smooths out to nice light grassy hope profile on a pale malt backbone. The finish is light and hay-like. M: Very light bodied with a nice carbonation with a clean and crisp mouthfeel. Refreshing to say the least with a high drinkability. O: Easily drinkable with a balanced flavor profile. On a hot summer day this is a great beer. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 02-19-2012

So many American brewpubs screw this one up, and make a golden ale. It’s like making an egg over easy and than you break the yolk and say well screw it I am having scrambled eggs. This had a hazy golden appearance with a small white head. A light bit of fruit jelly layed over a biscuit in the nose, with some nice grainy, albeit chewy maltiness, still remaining light with with some fruit in the finish. A nice take on the style.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear orange color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Grassy hops aroma with some fruity notes. Light and crisp body with flavors of hops, fruit and some grainy malt. The finish is fruity with a mild hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

draft. clear sparkling gold with a small white head and no retention. crispness and high hop acid give it bright vibrance still has some light malt chewiness and twang / corn notes. clean, refreshing acid and high bitterness for the style are enjoyable but otherwise it’s pretty basic.

Sampler glass at Piece, light grain aroma, typical of this style, flavor was a distinct germain cereal grain flavor with just a hint of sweetness, actually very close to what this style calls for. Light and refreshing ,but this would be a favorite at our homebrew club, where this style is quite popular

small white soapy head atop a pale straw colored body. bit of lacing. Nose and taste are the same, corn grain, sweat, and salt. mouthfeel is carbonated and fizzy. medium finish. As far as kolsch goes, not bad.

It was a while ago that I had this at the Piece Bar in Chicago, but it was very tasty- tasty enough to be the only thing I drank that night. The pizza there, however, was not that great- too thin, greasy. Beer was definitely worth listening to hours of bad karaoke.

Sampled this beer at the Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison WI. Kolsch beers are quickly becoming one of my fav's, but this one wasn't up to par with most.
