On tap @ Piece as Roland the Headless Oat Stout. This wasnít bad, but it could have used some improvement. A bit of chocolate and caramel in the nose and a bit of sweetness from the oats, and maybe just a hint of gamey leather there as well. Good roasted flavor throughout but was just a little bit light in the loafers. Needs some tweaking and it will be delicious.

Pretty deep cloudy brown with red tinges. Small tan head. Light coffee notes, molasses. Light dry bitterness, lingering sweetness. Heavy body, pretty chewy. Fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Love this oatmeal stout from Pece. Strong flavor of coffee and oatmeal. Ella like coffee and pours black with a tan head. Had at piece. This place really needs new beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had on tap at the source, served in a pint glass. A: Pours a dark black with a thin tan head forming on the pour. It recedes quickly to thin ring and leaves some splotchy lace on the way down. S: Dark roastiness, velvety caramel and espresso sweetness all fill those nose. Is this seriously the same beer I had at GI Stout Fest? There is a nice milk chocolate flavor as well as some toasted oatmeal malts to round it out. T: Caramel sweetness and fudge brownie are present up front with a rich espresso flavor and a roasted malt body to smooth it out. There is a mild green hop bitterness on the finish. M: Medium bodied with a nice carbonation. The body is creamy in nature also. There is a mild roasted bitterness on the finish. O: I had this at GI Stout Fest and was slightly underwhelmed. Granted Piece just sent some growlers to GI that day, but it is day and night between fresh from the tap and 4+ hours of an open growler. Rich and creamy, this is a must try. On draft at brewpub, pours a dark brown, almost black color, aromas of roasted malt, oats, and some light chocolate. Flavors are the same, light on the palate, a nice sessionable stout overall.

Enjoyed from growler at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. Appearance is black, moderate consistency, thin white rim. Aroma of light oat, bit of chocolate, smells nice. Taste is really good, uniquely complex, chocolate, nuts, oat, relatively light considering other high ABV beers Iíve had today, enjoyable.

Very dark pour with a small head that faded really quick. Taste is sweet at first, but it finishes a little bitter. Slight factory feel to it. Ok lacing. Medium mouth but a little on the thin side. Aroma is very faint.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is lighter with some smooth milky chocolates, a touch of lactose, a light roast, and some caramel. Flavor is a bit thin, but better. Lots of smooth and rich chocolates, oats with a touch of lactose sweetness, some roasts that come on more towards the end, and a touch of dark fruit. Finishes sweet and smooth, but dry with a nice roast and decent earthy bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a light-medium body and a light, creamy carbonation. Overall, a decent, flavorful oatmeal stout. Tasty and well balanced. Nothing special, but enjoyable.

draft.... not a fan of this, boring charry oatmeal stout, not a hint of sweetness, feel is off, aroma is ok but I canít recommend this
