ON draft at brewpub, poured a murky brown color, aromas of light toast, bread, earth, and some malt. Flavors are the same, light hops on the back end, ok beer overall.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread and grain with a hint of earthy hops. Flavor has notes of grain and bread with a bit of backing earthy hops.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Newk (299) - - FEB 6, 2012
Poured on tap at piece into a pint glass. Pours a nice dark brown color
Good malty aromas of caramel and toffee. lacking some depth and complexity in the aromas
medium bodied with a good feel and flavors of caramel, toffee and some malt flavors
This was a very drinkable beer, but lacking some real complexity and depth to it. A bit singular in both the aromas and flavors, but a good beer nonetheless

POurs dark amber with a light head. Notes of toffee and roasted malts show on the nose and deeper and more complex within the palate. The roasted grains really drive a fun nuance of rye and bread that come over and offer a smooth finish.

Reviewed from notes.
Pours a moderate amber copper color with a light head and some lacing. The nose is light citrus and spice with a bit of caramel. Taste is similar with slight hops and rye. A good bit of spice with a light caramel and fruit backbone. Good feel and drinks quite well; a nice rye beer.

I had this on tap into a tasting glass at Piece. The beer is dark gold with an orange tint. The aroma is a typical esb with light carmelish generic hops. Taste is light caramel with alcohol and hops as well. Its really watery to drink and in general just pretty boring.

[Tap] Pours a hazy dark golden color with a few wisps of white foam on top. Moderate floral aroma with some caramel thrown in. Tastes of caramel, toffee, biscuits and crisp floral hops. Some lemon and orange hints as well. Average palate. Not too bad, but not a whole lot going on in here.

Draught at the brewpub. Amber, white head. Toasty and roasty caramel aroma with some earthy hops. Fruity caramel flavor with light earthy hops and some darker roasted caramel. Medium body with med-low carbonation. A pretty fruity ESB with a nice rich malt flavor and just enough hops to keep it truckin’.
