JF_GRIND (1201), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2008 Picked up two tall boys of Piels for under a $1.50 in beautiful Camden New Jersey. Poured one into a glass and consumed the second out of the can while in the shower. Much better than I thought it would be, it was a flat, corn beer but did have flavor as well. A cheap beer worth trying at least once.
NewBelgium5 (16), , Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2008 Piels has all the characteristics of a cheap domestic beer. It’s somewhat bready, there’s nothing special about it but if you want to get drunk you can drink it all night. dcm667 (1), Plant City, Florida, USA does not count May 31, 2008 Palatable only if served at a very low temperature. Recommend drinking a six pack of quality beer before drinking this. I dub this selection the "Beer of Kings".
NextBestThing (10), Westtown, New York, USA May 25, 2008 This is not horrible. Definitely better than Michelob, Heineken, Moosehead and some of the other more highly regarded high-school beers. Another one you could drink 20 of and not puke. I drank the better part of a twelve-pack that I picked up at the local beverage discount center for $4 plus deposit. I was actually looking for Schlitz, and almost settled for Schmidt’s, but went with Piels and am not regretting it. Pours light, has very faint taste but completely non-offensive. Virtually no aftertaste. I rate this well ahead of PBR from the same family of cheap US made beer. davidCC (122), New York, USA May 22, 2008 I would prefer this over some of the name brands, unfortunately its made by miller so that’s not even valid. drumtime (5), Oradell, New Jersey, USA does not count Apr 16, 2008 im getting a hangover just reading the label... makes a grand drinking game beer... most places will just give you a case for free cause who the hell drinnks this crap? ...
