chunknuts (51), Watertown, New York, USA Sep 21, 2002 i think this beer is very delicious. i mean the great blend of malt and hops that create this beer are are delicious. and i just wanted to say that perdue also has a fabuluous taste in beer Perdue46 (60), USA Sep 21, 2002 Definitely a quality beer. I was warned before I drank it that it wasnt very good. I found it to be excellent NeroFiddled (105), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2002 Brilliant clarity with a nice straw gold color, bright white head, and very fine bubbles. The aroma is sweetly malty with a light nuttiness and a touch of hops. The body is light/medium and it has a good mouthfeel. The flavor is exactly as indicated by the nose: lightly nutty malt with a touch of earthy hop. A surprising amount of flavor. The balance leans toward malty sweetness but does not become cloying - although the finish is a little sticky in the mouth. Very clean, well brewed beer. JerseysBeast (19), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 10, 2002 Pretty plain beer, has a slightly hoppy zing to it. NextBestThing (15), Westtown, New York, USA May 25, 2008 This is not horrible. Definitely better than Michelob, Heineken, Moosehead and some of the other more highly regarded high-school beers. Another one you could drink 20 of and not puke. I drank the better part of a twelve-pack that I picked up at the local beverage discount center for $4 plus deposit. I was actually looking for Schlitz, and almost settled for Schmidt’s, but went with Piels and am not regretting it. Pours light, has very faint taste but completely non-offensive. Virtually no aftertaste. I rate this well ahead of PBR from the same family of cheap US made beer.
