750 c&c from the Natomas BevMo. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is mild caramel with some sort of nutty aspect. Med body. It’s pretty flavorful. First impression is Belgian. There’s caramel, but there’s some non-dark fruit. Mildly spicey. Having recently encountered chestnuts frequently, and noting "chestnut flour" on the label, I’m opining that the mysterious aspect is chestnut. There’s even an oily impression. Light but it’s there. Definitely more dry than sweet. Certainly an unusual ale.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of tuna salad, carmel, earthiness and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toffee, light tuna, light spice and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish.

Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toasted, cereal), light hops (herbal), and light esters (fruity) with notes of corn. Flavor is heavy malt (grain, caramel, toasted, cereal, nutty), light hops (herbal), and light esters (fruity) with notes of buttered corn. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and creaminess with a dry finish.

from Amstein - clear and bright ruby-brown beer with a little foam left; gently earthy with some notes of chestnuts and red fruits marmalade; a good malt backbone and slightly oily; clean palate; low bitterness and a long chestnutty and earthy finish - pleasant

750mL thanks to argo0. Pours a clear cherry red with a thinning, off-white head that leaves some sticky lace. Aroma is metallic, sharp, some cherry juice box. Taste is watery, full of cherry juicy juice. Palate is dry and suddy.
