Bottle 0,75l from Corsica. Corsican version of witbier. Native to this beautiful island, Colomba is peculiar, full, wild, astringent. Very interesting experience.

Can from a French supermarket. Pours a cloudy lemon colour with a frothy white head. This is a beer with a pretty odd flavour. Along with a fair bit of spiciness there’s an underlying taste that reminds me of chlorine. Improves after a few sips, with citrus coming through. It’s fairly refreshing, but not my cup of tea.

Bottle. Pale yellow, hazy body, with a big, stable, creamy, white head, that sticks to the glass. Aroma of citrus, orange, spices, herbs, grains. Taste is a bit thin, with mainly spices, some fruits, wheat, herbs. Mouthfeel is light, slick, with low carbonation and it finishes spicy, grainy, moderate bitter. OK, refreshing. Taste isn’t well balanced and pretty thin, with too dominant spice notes.

Pours a hazy maize yellow color with a white head. Aroma of yeast, spice, and a touch of fruit. Mostly yeast and spice flavor with some fruit and wheat. Decent beer.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A yellow opaque grey beer with a medium white head. Medium persistence. Herbal aroma, lemon, heather. Medium sweet then medium bitter (light dry). Refreshing. Light body, thin texture, fizzy carbonation, herbal bitter finish. Overall, although taste is average, this white beer is still refreshing with a pleasant herbal aroma.

Bottle 0,75l from hypermarket in Bastia, Corsica, and drink at home, Czech. Aroma: Light fruity, sweet, strange aroma of maccia herbs, but not unpleasant. Appearance: Very hazy, pale yellow body with many sediments. Head is high, creamy, consistent, dirty white. Flavour: Spice is very interesting, perfect balanced with taste of beer itself, what is beardy, malty, sweet, light bitter, hint of citrus fruit and yeast, maybe ginger. Texture is creamy, aftertaste again sweet. Medium carbonation. Overall: I like it! Really untypical beer for this style, it’s ownself. But for me is taste harmonic, taste of Corsica indeed.

Hazy pale yellow colour. Aroma is citrus-like. Taste is a bit flat. Added herbs as mentioned hard to distinguish in the taste.

330 ml bottle. Pale canary yellow, completey hazy and murky looking, with a nice, creamy and moderately persistent bright white head. Damn, I’ve never seen a beer just 100% hazy like this one! One the nose grain, cereals, wet cardboard, yeast and ligh fruity esters. Just a hint of generic spices as well. Sweet, cloyingly sweet, lots of artificial sweetness. Yeah, it’s sweet. Little spicy zing on the tongue, very mild bready/biscuity malt backbone, just a hint of citric/lemony component to be generous. Sour and sweet aftertaste. It’s not even refreshing to be honest. Average carbonation, light to medium body, slightly creamy texture. Poor.
