Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2016. Poured a murky medium brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is mineral yeast, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light watery mineral, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. 4.8% ABV. A clear deep ruby amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of malt loaf, toffee, some red berries, slight dark fruits, a little spicy orange, a hint of pepper and subtle herbal hops. Taste of red berries, caramel, some toffee, slight spicy orange, a little pine, a hint of pepper, maybe some grass and subtle herbal hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A bittersweet, malty, peppery and herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A complex amber ale, lots of fruity, spicy, peppery and herbal flavours. Good body too, punches above its weight.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Dark brown in colour with ruby red highlights and a thin white vanishing head. It has a dried red fruity and burnt toffee flavour with roasted and chocolate notes followed by a dry oak finish. Pretty good considering the medium strength ABV.
