3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 markgugs (86) - Wood Ridge, New Jersey, USA - FEB 9, 2008
poured from a 22oz. bottle into a pint glass
A: Pours a gorgeous glowing amber with a thin bubbly white head. Incredible sparkling clarity rounds out a nice-looking beer.
S: Too mild for my liking, try as I might, I could only barely detect slight hints of orange & coriander, and almost no maltiness at all.
T/M: Luckily the taste improves dramatically from the nose! Coriander is definitely present, as is a nice hint of nutmeg and orange which blends well into a tasty roasted body. And then finally the hops kick in, finishing things off in a lip-smacking fashion. Mouthfeel is spot-on for what I wanted in this beer, it’s carbonated nicely and just coats the mouth all over.
D: Easily drinkable, might be one of my favorite winter warmer-styled ales, it just goes down so smooth. Well-worth seeking out.

Starts out okay, not the exact flavor I was expecting, but seems to get better as the beer goes on. Something you could drink a lot of. Good, but over priced.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Tenderstone (25) - Renton, Washington, USA - JAN 1, 2008
Pours a gorgeous copper-amber color with an off-white head that’s just a tad bigger than average. Distinct hop bitterness comes through the malt, with citrus bitterness accompanying. Spices of pine, orange and coriander come through lightly, but complimentary to the bitterness, with a touch of malty sweetness.

Beautiful pour, and the head stays around for a while. Very smooth, and the spicy notes aren’t over-powering.

From a 22-oz. bottle--Poured a clear deep bronzed copper. Great beige head that left nice lacing in glass. Nose of piquant hops and creamy caramelly hops. Piny, sweet, fruity citrus notes come through well in flavor and finish with a mellow creamy, biscuity finish.

Smells like nothing but nutmeg. Smooth, a little hop in the finish. Can easily notice a lot of spices. Unique, but nice a flavorful.
