COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On the palate Harlot’s Harvest is round and rich with a burst of caramel and molasses yielding a smooth sweetness reminiscent of pumpkin pie, and the boldness of a Belgian, monastic-style, strong dark ale. Savor it naked or clothed in the bounty of the season! To dress it appropriately, Charles Finkel designed the seductive label.

22 oz bottle from Chuck’s 85th. Pours dark reddish amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet and tart cinnamon and nutmeg. Nice rich dark roasty malts followed by sweet pumpkin pie notes. Just a slight sour hint on the finish. One of the darker, more ’winter beer - like’ of the pumpkin beers I’ve had. Great pumpkin pie flavor without being cloyingly sweet or syrupy.

Brown/black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, and appropriately spiced like a pumpkin pie, but not too much. Taste is the same, and nothing sticks out too far, it’s all there in the right proportion, without all the astringency of many in the style. This gives you earthy spiced caramel, and at the same time it’s pretty clean, and alcohol is well hidden $5.70/22oz

Bottle from Total Wine McLean. Pours dark brown with a thin khaki head which leaves a fair amount of lacing. Nice spice rack and pumpkin notes on the nose. Defintiely get the pumpkin on the tongue which comes off pretty realisticly. finish lingers a bit but given it’s abv that’s to be expected. Hides its alcohol pretty well. Nice.

Spicy aroma, rich brown color, slightly cloudy. Malty with light spice and hop flavor. Hops lingers at the end.

Robert brought this one back from a trip to Washinton. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a huge fluffy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was malty, toasty and a bit woody with notes of dark fruits and red wine. The flavor was malty and toasty caramel, toffee, wood, red wine, dark fruits and nutmeg. Long malty and toasty finish of caramel and red wine. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Bottle. Love the name and label are of this. Pours a very clear dark brown color with almost no head on it. Nose is filled with a lot of actual pumpkin flavor, but the spices are muted on this. Taste is a little sweet, and has some decent pumpkin flavor coming through, but again, the spices are less noticeable. One of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had.

On tap at Hops Northwest in New Westminster. Darker than most pumpkin ales, almost black, with a moderate tan head. Subtly spiced, and at that more pleasant than most pumpkin spice recipes, perhaps a bit more toward clove than the ubiquitous cinnamon and nutmeg, who knows? Caramel notes and perhaps a hint of chocolate in the background. It works for me.

Deep dark pour w/ a big tan head that fades into a thin ring of lacing. The aroma screams fall & pie w/ a pleasant blend of spices. The taste is well balanced w/ subtle spice throughout. It’s tasty & easy to get down! One of the better pumpkins out there!

Dark brown pour with brown head. Smells like ginger cookies with darker roast undertones. Flavour brings out toast, cinnamon, ginger, allspice. Not too vegetal. Finish has more burnt toast, molasses, spices. I like these bigger pumpkin ales more than the weaker ones. Alcohol is hidden very well.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, huge thanks to 5000. Pours dark brown with ruby edges. This is a malty, well spiced brown ale. Nothing is out of balance, bready malts, reminds me of a ginger snap cookie. Tasty beer.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a dark brown body with a thumbnail of tan head that retains well. Lots of toast, malt, and copper on the nose. Flavors divulge more toast, very subtle spices like allspice & cinnamon, soy sauce, a subtle vegetable note, and subtle piney hops in the finish. Medium carbonation and medium body. Nice for the style with everything in good balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
