Taste: lots of cloves, spices, sweet, caramel, bit sugary. Aftertaste: very spicy, lots of cloves, bit sweet, soft bitterness, way too spicy.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My favorite season is finally upon us. Drinking beers like this is a very happy reminder. Beer is proof of a lot of good things. Draft pour at the brewery in their signature tulip glass. Pours a red tinted black with a tan ring head. Rich caramel and smooth pumpkin aroma. Matching flavor. I don’t rate them nearly enough, but I love these pumpkin beers. I think this year will be an up year for them for me, and I couldn’t have started much better. Awesome beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap, brewery. Pours a clear very dark brown body with a small foamy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is a mix of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, dark caramel, and light chocolate and roasted malts. Sweet, but it smells quite delicious. The flavor is a touch too much spice-centric, but not crazy. Nice sweet caramel and vanilla base with fairly hefty pumpkin meat and caramel maltiness. An almost marshmallow like sweetness on the back end. Mouthfeel is sticky and sweet with some clingy caramel on the finish. Fine fizzy carbonation. Decent effort, I like the darker caramel malt focus.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance shows a dark brown ale supporting minimal head, leaving nil lace. Smell of a higher gravity ale with pumpkin and spice in the background. Taste has some pumpkin and spice with a lot of alcohol. Mouthfeel is light considering the gravity with good carbonation. To much alcohol flavor for me and not enough pumpkin and spice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampler at Chuck’s in Seattle. Maybe the only thing that sets this pumpkin beer apart from the pack is the dark copper color. Clear beer. Aroma is vegetal gourd with moderate strength spices, clove heavy. Flavor has surprising hop presence, less gourd and more spice. At least its not sweet.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bomber into an ale glass. Dark brown and cloudy on the pour, with a modest amount of off-white head. Very little Brussels lace. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, allspice(?), squash, molasses, toasted malt. Sweet tasting with a tad bit of bitterness in the back. Medium body and carbonation, a hint of heat/spice from the alcohol. Overall I enjoyed it a lot.

Beautiful pumpkin. Dark in color. Strong pumpkin flavors. I’m not sure what the base beer is, though. But this guy is tasty. ABV very well hidden. Recommended.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Brown ale in appearance. Nice malty backbone to support the spices, though you cant tell it’s over 8%. the usua; suspects are there...cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice...but not over or underdone with a little natural pumpkin in there as well. Nice brew...and a decent deal at <$5."
