COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On the palate Harlot’s Harvest is round and rich with a burst of caramel and molasses yielding a smooth sweetness reminiscent of pumpkin pie, and the boldness of a Belgian, monastic-style, strong dark ale. Savor it naked or clothed in the bounty of the season! To dress it appropriately, Charles Finkel designed the seductive label.

Beautiful pumpkin. Dark in color. Strong pumpkin flavors. I’m not sure what the base beer is, though. But this guy is tasty. ABV very well hidden. Recommended.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2013 Cask - Smells like pumpkin pie, rich spices and sweet malts. Hazy amber with light thin head. Tastes very rich, heavily spices with the malts and pumpkin perfectly balanced. The cask conditioning of this makes it one of the best pumpkin ales I have every had. Picked up a bottle, hopefully it is just as good. Bottle - Not nearly as good as the cask, but I am not surprised. Toasty alt nose, Pretty sweet and a slight taste of medicine. Pumpkin is there, just a bit in the background. In the bottle this would be a 3.0.

22 oz bottle from Chuck’s 85th. Pours dark reddish amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet and tart cinnamon and nutmeg. Nice rich dark roasty malts followed by sweet pumpkin pie notes. Just a slight sour hint on the finish. One of the darker, more ’winter beer - like’ of the pumpkin beers I’ve had. Great pumpkin pie flavor without being cloyingly sweet or syrupy.

Pumpkin, bread and spices in the aroma. Pours a deep mahogany with a tan head. Rich in spices, bread and caramel. Smooth good mouthfeel with nice rounded flavor profile.

Bomber. Charles Finkel, you devil! The woman on the label has nice gourds, but she’s pretty homely. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a collapsing beige head. Aroma is full of pumpkin pie spice. Taste is sweet and savory with lots of that aforementioned spice conglomeration; seems especially savory compared to a lot of the pumpkin beers I’ve been drinking lately, which seems like a lot. Overall, a great pumpkin beer.

Bottle from Total Wine McLean. Pours dark brown with a thin khaki head which leaves a fair amount of lacing. Nice spice rack and pumpkin notes on the nose. Defintiely get the pumpkin on the tongue which comes off pretty realisticly. finish lingers a bit but given it’s abv that’s to be expected. Hides its alcohol pretty well. Nice.

Brown/black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, and appropriately spiced like a pumpkin pie, but not too much. Taste is the same, and nothing sticks out too far, it’s all there in the right proportion, without all the astringency of many in the style. This gives you earthy spiced caramel, and at the same time it’s pretty clean, and alcohol is well hidden $5.70/22oz

Poured from a bomber into an ale glass. Dark brown and cloudy on the pour, with a modest amount of off-white head. Very little Brussels lace. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, allspice(?), squash, molasses, toasted malt. Sweet tasting with a tad bit of bitterness in the back. Medium body and carbonation, a hint of heat/spice from the alcohol. Overall I enjoyed it a lot.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear brownish pour with some orange around the edges and a medium foamy light beige head that recedes slowly. Sticky partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pumpkin spices and malt. Medium body with flavors of pumpkin, ginger and cinnamon plus some sweet malt in the background. The finish is sweet with a pumpkin aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Dark browna nd ruby around the edges. Short, bubbly tan head. Strong caramel and molasses with pumpkin pie, clove, and nutmeg in the nose. Almost a hint of Old Bay seasoning as well (or something similar). Taste is molasses up front with softer caramel, slightly burnt pumpkin pie, clove, nutmeg, light cinnamon and sweet malt. Body is medium with a dense, creamy carbonation. Ends with more molasses and caramel notes, softer clove, light cinnamon, pumpkin pie, burnt pie crust and more spices.
