Nik925 (300), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bad lingering bitter aftertaste. Solid but simple hop flavor. This one falls flat and leaves little to write about. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Aug 8, 2008 Hazy orange- copper color, very caramel butterscotch malty tasting with almost no hops for an IPA. Some citrus in the nose. Finish is dry and somewhat fruity but again I’m missing the hops. Dull IPA. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper with small off white head. Aroma is some toasty malt, some citrus and pine, and a little bit of forest-floor. The flavor has a nice piney and spicy hop character, with some fruitier notes in the finish. There is a quite apparent toasted malt quality throughout. The finish is a little duller than I would like, but it’s still a pretty decent brew. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Pours nice amber color with nice aroma of earthy hops. Info: 355ml bottle, 12/12-2007, 173/300 tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Sweet caramel malts and citrus hops are rounded out by butterscotch in the nose. Opaque orange-amber body is topped by a generous off white head that recedes rapidly to a thin partial cover. Biscuity and caramel malt provide a solid base for the pronounced bitterness with plenty of citrus and floral hop character. Again the butterscotch rounds things out. Medium full body is quite luscious with pleasantly prickly carbonation that offsets it quite nicely. Everything comes together quite nicely and the whole is definitely more than the sum of its parts. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Jun-08).
