Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Oct 22, 2007 Bottle. Flowery aroma. Pale ruby, almost grey colour, but a thick off-white head. Taste... tooth paste? Not too strong. Short finish. Drinkable, but nothing special. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 11, 2007 on tap-pours a light tan head that laces and gold color. Aroma is mild citrus hops. Taste is cascade/citrus hops-some bitterness, secondary sweet medium malt backbone. Easy drinking. Nice. OK/mild carbonation. cathcacr (586), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 10, 2007 Hard to really characterize this as an IPA; it’s just very mild. Sweet, and somewhat tasty, but not an IPA. This came with ultra-cloudy body and foamy head. Slight melba-toast aroma, but could hardly pick up anything else. Excellent head and lacing, somewhat watery on the finish. Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Oct 9, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Strongly citric hop aroma, full and fresh, with notes of grapefruit, toasty malt grains and some lightly floral touches. Appealingly juicy and strong. Clear light copper color with a slight, white head and some decent lacing. Flavor is mildly sweet up front, but soon explodes with hop flavor and bitterness, grapefruit and tangerine most apparent, some honey flavor in the background late, but otherwise pine, spice and citrus dominate in large degree throughout. Pow! Oily, slick mouthfeel, lightly prickly and resinous, body is medium. Almost one-dimensional but somehow really tasty! EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Oct 7, 2007 Updated: Oct 15, 2007My fiftieth IPA. Bottle from jake65 - thanks, Jake! Woody aroma with a touch of - well, it kinda reminds of a lambic. Citrus/grapefruit to boot. Takes a touch of lychee and an exotic perfumed note. Murky (non-transparent) but carbonically active copper body with a classic IPA head - densely lacing and rocky. Taste is medially bitter but very refreshingly so, with strong, angular breadiness and complimentary fruitiness. Chewy, earthy caramel apparent after a few more ounces, with a subtle bit of a toasty graininess. Full body, still sprite and lively, with a dry, lightly bitter aftertaste - and yet it can not escape the woody, fruity, bready notes. Balanced and well-made, really nice! riversideAK (2650), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 3, 2007 On tap at Brouwers. Aroma was sweet and buttery. Poured cloudy orange. Definite english malt in the flavor - very sweet. Lemon, citrus, and floral hops in the finish. For being dry hopped, the aroma was not really that hoppy, but it was a nice English Style IPA nonetheless. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 10, 2007 A hazy golden amber ale with a thick creamy lacing off white head. Aroma is quite interesting although I suspect infection...flowery resinous hops with notes of Brett, catnip. In mouth, a good malt with very present hopping, but very herbal and wild, with lots of grapefruit, bitter, and a rich body. Interesting. Sherbrooke Liquors, Edmonton, early 2007. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 6, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear orange color. Head was thin, white, and left some good lace behind. Smelled of light flowery hops. At most, there was only mild hop bitterness and the mouht feel was on the thin side. Tasted of flower blossoms and biscuity malt.
