3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: clear pale amber with a fat finger of light tan head, good retention and moderate patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: pine, caramel/toffee malt, light citrus, light diacetyl. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (6/10) Palate: medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (3/5)
A fairly pedestrian A/IPA. Yes, itís bitter, and thereís a fairly good balance between the mildly dark malt and the slightly dank bitterness. But the hops donít have a lot of character other than bitterness - no real brightness or pop. It definitely tastes every inch the 60 IBU the bottle claims - but it isnít very interesting in the process. (12/20)

On tap at 12th Man. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread and toffee with a bit of resinous pine coming through. Flavor is more balanced with pine and sweet bread with a touch of toffee underlying.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Where the spirit really shines is its flavor and body. Flavor is very malty , some Toffee, a bit of roast, lots of bitter. Body is just right. Appearance isnít bad with a clear amber copper color and loads of lace.

[3/3/15] Draught at Dungeness Bay Seafood House in Seattle-Tacoma airport. Clear reddish amber. Aroma of malt, slightly caramelly, piney and citric hops and a buttery note. Sweetish malt flavor with some caramel, a mild buttery touch, a bit of toast, citric and piney hops and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. A bit buttery but still OK.
