CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jan 25, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy orange copper with a nicely-lacing froth of white head. Has a sweet, toasted pale malty aroma with a fresh grapefruity hoppy presence. Body starts slightly sweet and caramely malty with a decent hoppy balance toward a bittersweet finish. A nice IPA. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 19, 2007 Medium orange in colour with a bit of haze. Fairly floral aroma with a bit of citrus, caramel, and a bit of a spice note... perhaps rosemary, but I’m not sure. Pleasant tree bark and black pepper flavors. The caramel malts provide some balance too. There is a citrus component to the flavor as well, but it’s pretty subdude. Strong bitterness, and fairly low carbonation. Good stuff. Thanks presario. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 19, 2007 I can see why this is highly rated. Tasted fantastic. Nice lingering hop taste. good carbonation. I knew I was going to like based on the colour. Thanks to Piscator for the sample. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Dec 30, 2006 12oz brown bottle. Coppery orange in colour, haze, a few floaties. Billowy head, off white in colour. Floral hop aroma, citrusy - orange and grapefruit, trace of pine needle. Starts with a medium sweet malt flavour, grapefruit hop flavour with floral notes. Mild bitter finish, hop taste lingers for a bit with some malt. Soft body, creamy texture with light carbonation. Fightfire4beer (125), Virginia, USA Dec 29, 2006 Tap. Amber color with a thick white head. Aroma of malt, grass and citrus. Starts a little fruity and sweet giving way to a toasty malt flavor. Finishes with a strong bitterness. C TipsyMcStager (900), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 28, 2006 gotta say I love this beer. Nice piney hop aroma. Pours a cloudy orange with a foamy head. Sweet, but understated malt presence, earthiness. Lingering, satisfying hop finish. A very flavourful beer. Underrated IMO. acertain (249), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 6, 2006 Pours a clear medium amber with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty subtle, with grapefruit the dominant note. In the mouth, it’s fairly sweet and the start, with hints of peaches, then yielding to pronounced bitterness. Too bitter for me, but a fine beer. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Nov 20, 2006 Clear amber, moderate to small head, average lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, floral, toast. Flavor is not overly bitter, tame for a PNW IPA but very well balanced. Enjoyable. Something different than the usual blast of PNW hops... yet still interesting/tasty.
