3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Capa (1543) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 7, 2009
Clear golden with minimal head. Citric, floral, fruity, and light caramel malts in the nose. Medium to full body. Flavor is full of citrus, pine, light earth, some very light malts. Surprisingly bitter finish for the flavor- and it lingers for quite some time. A very nice, refreshing IPA.

Sampled in a 22oz. A really good brew. Pours dark golden brown. Little froth of head. Drinks really crisp with a good hoppy freshness. Malts are pure and smooth. A really nice brew.

Cask. Cloudy amber brown. Nose is citrus hops, some pine. Low carbonation but ok mouthfeel. Medium body, not overdone bitter finish. A solid NW IPA, if nothing that stands out.

Wow.Nice 10mm head that lasted at least a minute from the bottle. Nice fruity floral nose. I seem to detect the gentle aroma of tangerines. Semi transluscent, light copper brown body. Very easy to drink. Nice bitter and slightly peppery mouthfeel for me, with a malt backbone somewhere behind the hops. Got the zesty, fruity tangerine/apricot/grapefruit and gentle to mild bitterness on the tongue, all the way to the back. I do like this beer. Not overly hop aggresive yet still strongly hopped. Nicely made. I’ll drink this again. Hard to let it warm, as it’s easy to drink.

Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy, burnt orange body with a smallish, white head.
Smell: Simple but pervasive spice and zest hop scents overlaying a bready pale malt backing.
Taste: Upfront pale malts with a touch of breadiness to them and a bit of sweetness. Hint of steeped grains. Touch of apricot fruitiness. Spicy, lightly citrusy (though it grows a bit citric as you go along) hops with a pop of medium-high bitterness. Finishes as dry and bitter as one would expect.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A solid, ideal India Pale Ale that really gets the job done.

Bomber poured into chilled pint glass. Ah, this is nice. Good aroma and nice earthy and grainy texture. Very easy to drink. This would be a great beer to use as an intro to craft beer as its very flavorful but not too over the top. I like it.

This is a great IPA. Although not as much aroma hits my nose as I would like, the taste is a little earthy and spicy. I enjoyed this cloudy beer over some spicy food and before I knew it, my beer was gone! Obviously, that is a great complement!
