3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pike IPA is next on my blogging/reviewing list. It’s pretty darn tasty stuff!
Coppery and clear, light tan head wasn’t bad and lacing was good.
Aroma is subdued but nice, earthy hops, piney resin, light malts.
Taste is pretty balanced, if a bit heavy on the earthy hops side. Malts are ample and create a nice balanced beer. I think the munich malt adds a nice dimension, it’s not something I see a lot in IPAs.
Body is medium and actually pretty drinkable, despite the rather heavy malt and hops assault on your tastebuds.
Overall this beer makes me want to try more of Pike’s beers. That should say it all right there.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Pike Pub & Brewery, Seattle - 09/11/12.
Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white head that soon clears to the edges and forms a pond.
Nose is caramel malt, hops, light tropcial fruit notes - not very busy really!
Taste follows, pine, hops, touch of mango and grapefruit.
Medium bodied with light prickly carbonation, bitter finish..
Drinkable but more entry level IPA than anything nearing great!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the brewpub. Pours orange copper with clingy nice lacing. Aroma has ctirus & pine. Taste is of bitter citrus with an orange focus, resin and pine. Sticky. Finishes long and bitter. Decent IPA, for the area you can get better on tap almost anywhere, though.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bomber - pours dark gold with a medium head. Not overly hoppy but definitely has a grapefruit hop presence. Not all that spectacular. The warmer it got the less I wanted to drink it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle at Taste of India in Seattle. For a regular ipa, the flavor is on the high end of grass and potent hops. Bitter too. As long as you keep those flavor elements under control by maintaining a chilled temperature, it’s highly drinkable. Once the beer warms up a little though, the taste becomes a bit off-putting. Orange color, medium bodied, floral aroma.

Cloudy dark orange. Smell is astringent citrus. Taste is strong grapefruit with grass and hay. Not too bitter. Thin body. Pretty good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2013 Had on tap in Seattle. Pours amber with amazing hop/pine/grapefruit aroma. Taste follows with hops up front and nice sweetness on the back. Taste is close to a DIPA. Was very impressed by this one.
