Pours a clear, deep burnished copper color, small half inch of thick chunky white head that stays around forever. Muted, almost nonexistent aroma- some light notes of pine and faint toasted caramel. Flavor starts with sharp, earthy bitterness. Following the nose, notes of pine resin; some fresh cut marigolds and other floral notes, dry semi-sweet toasted malts. Malt shows some nutty notes as well. Palate is light and clean, with nothing lingering on the aftertaste. Decent beer, but seems much closer to an ESB as opposed to an IPA. Decent, but does not achieve it’s aim. thornecb (1757), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Off-white micro head meringues and islands leaving spotted sheets. Sweet caramel and grapefruit aromas. Thin yet crisp - grapefruit and resin. Mild alcohol in the dry finish. mmmbeer (745), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2009 22 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured half transparent copper orange color, low carbonation, extremely thin ring of white bubbles around the edge of the glass and wisps atop the liquid surface for a head. Aroma of floral and citrus, malt, and- oh yeah, hops. Hits the mouth with a very enjoyable high-medium body, malt laced with a faint sweetness initially greets you but that hop wave comes rolling in, holds up well in the middle, acidic and slightly bitter finish. Solid brew- and it killed my hop desire I had as of late. alexanderj (2227), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2009 On tap at Pike in Seattle. Color was a clearish amber/orange. Aroma was really great; flowers, biscuit malt, and citrus. Flavor was not quite as stellar, but still really tasty. Citrus, bread and flowers. Good stuff overall. Capa (965), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Clear golden with minimal head. Citric, floral, fruity, and light caramel malts in the nose. Medium to full body. Flavor is full of citrus, pine, light earth, some very light malts. Surprisingly bitter finish for the flavor- and it lingers for quite some time. A very nice, refreshing IPA. rmussman (905), California, USA
