| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2005 Golden-amber colour. Toasty, woody, grapefruity aroma. The palate is strongly woody, with plenty of toasty, whole wheat bready notes to back it up. Citrus is light and lemony, adding a refreshing note to the finish to cut through what is almost too much crystal malt. Well-balanced example. argo0 (6890), Washington DC, USA

Soft medium body with some chewiness. Tasty, and a fine example of the style. harrisoni (6771), Ashford, Kent, England

Reasonable in mouth. Intense IPA hop finish with more grapefruit. Very astringent. Good intensity. Malts disappear relatively quickly to leave astringent earthy hop finish.
