3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pike IPA has a medium, creamy, cream-colored head, an opaque, orange appearance, some visible bubbles stuck to the side of the glass, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of musty, piney hops, hop oil, some citrus, and malt. Taste is of alcohol, piney oil, dank, wet hay, white bread and white bread crust, lots of hop bitterness, especially in the aftertaste, and a bit of citrus peel. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and soft, and Pike IPA finishes wet, heavy, sloshy, and drinkable. Overall, this is one of those heavy, mushy Indian Pale Ales. It’s still remarkable and worth trying. Rating #1907 - 2015.09.24 - #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 6 - Flight at taproom. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with orange peel, lemon, pine, Taste is more of the same citrusy hops and doughy, caramel malts dominating the flavour, with a dose of pink grapefruit sweetness sure to last. Lovely

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beer that focuses on balance rather than hop assertiveness. Grassy, a little citrus, a little pine. Tried with Josh at the brewery in 2016.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Aroma is malty-sweet earth. Nice taste of cascade hops, just right bitterness, lingering aftertaste. A bit too much in places but overall a solid IPA that is above average.
