This rather dissappoints from the beginning. Looks good - hazy gold with a low head--but one whiff and you know this didn’t come from the Old World. Sugary sweet body and a lots of yeast notes with a peppery end--what you’d expect from the flavor profile of a tripel. So they got that right. But the balance is off--too sweet, and the flavors themselves aren’t authentic.

Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear golden color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of syrup, caramel, nuts, flowers, toffee--typical belgian tripel aroma. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, some ripe fruit, prunes, apples and and maybe just a hint of citrus. Generally medium body with a sweet finish.

Thanks Ibrew2or3 for the share. Pours a clear gold with a nose of tart apple, pear, honey, and floral notes. Flavor is hops, some funk, and fruitiness. Fruit stays around for a little bit. Not bad.

Pours clear brilliant gold with thin white head. The aroma has full notes of sugary malts, apple, light colored fruits and some flower pedals. The taste begins with a pulse of sweet and roasty malts followed by apricots and apples and moving toward harsher fruit notes. It then returns back to roastiness into the finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet pilsner malt, light fruits, and spicy yeast. Taste is the same as aroma with floral hops. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Decent

(22oz bottle, thanks Ibrew2or3) Small white head atop lightly hazed light amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, fruity (peach, some prune, light melon). Taste is moderately sweet, fruit, straw. In my book, not dry enough for the style. Medium-full body, some stickiness.

(Draught) Pours a hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, clove, light citrus, and candi sugar. Flavor of yeast, coriander, dough, candi sugar, and a touch of honey.

Thanks to my wife for bringing this one back from Seattle for me. Sadly it was a little disappointing. Golden color and appropriate foamy head. Very little aroma. Some sweet fruitiness, but a bit faint. Didn’t get much of a yeasty note at all. Fairly bland on the palate, nothing really jumped. There was an odd bitterness to it. Not quite hoppy, but some spice to it. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just didn’t seem right. Would love to try it again when I’m in Seattle - perhaps the flavor was a casualty of the trip back East.
