Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 16, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear light golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of malt, spices and tart fruit. Medium body with flavors of yeast, peppery hops and fruit. Some sweet malt is present at times too. The finish is tart fruit and spices with a bit of banana lingering behind. Above average overall. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 22, 2008 Orange, cold hazed beer under small bubbly white head. Bubblegum (4-v...guaiacol...) over some cloves - Weizen tripel? Toasted malts, white candi sugar, honey (?), and good attenuation. Medium body, alcohol is obvious. Wh/ye/labs/ast, technically OK, but it isn’t inviting to me. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Apr 5, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2009old rating:

pours a little hazy orange-yellow with a medium size white head, and some lacing.
smell of graham cracker, yeast, spice, banana, wheat, and a slight amount of sweet fruits.
taste is creamy, spice, bread dough, a touch of caramel, wheat, peach, pear, banana, and other sweet fruit, and some pepper, ends slightly bitter and a bit sticky. HughConway (364), Alabama, USA Apr 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours pale yellow with white head. Sweet fruit aroma. Taste is overly sweet falsely fruity for the style. Not rec’d. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Feb 22, 2008 22 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a small/medium white head that is mostly lasting. The aroma has a medly of fruits with a sugary sweetness. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately fruity (citrus, peach), enough alcohol to be noticed, all leading to a dry finish. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jan 10, 2008 Draught chalice at Redbones on 11/15/07 Lightly hazed golden with some amber highlights. One finger of dense white head that is very well-retained and laces profusely down the glass. Wasn’t sure what to expect from this mostly American style brewer, was envisioning too much yeast, banana, phenols, etc...but the aroma is fairly reserved, showing off light apricots and candied orange, moderate amounts of vanilla and honey sugars and a tinge of pineapple on the finish. Some alcohol warmth, true to style, dries out the finish. Hops are minimal and show no trace of high alpha acids. A lightly sweaty, cedary almost, note from the yeast adds some Belgian flair. No flaws. Not terribly complex, and not incredibly "Belgian", but well done. Clean and well-presented are the pale malts, with honey and lightly crisp specialty malts on the finish. Banana is low as is the yeast dullness, while some peach and apricot mix with alcohol esters to give more dryness on the finish. A bit astringent by the end of the glass, on account of the alcohol and malt breadiness, but still enjoyable. No flaws. Moderate carbonation and a fluffy, soft texture (with grainiess on the end). Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 26, 2007 On tap at the Pike Pub (listed at 9.2% abv, by the way). Faintly cloudy orange-ish yellow. Not much head. Very sweet, fruity aroma, with a lot of banana and a bit of white wine, too. Very sweet, but not overpoweringly so Some pineapple and citrus, with more orange than I’d expect. Some banana and chardonnay notes, too. Very enjoyable stuff. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 11, 2007 Pours a clear gold with a small ring of foam and a sour lambic aroma. Tart green apples in the taste, notes of peach, pale malt, quite sour, very nice. Thin body with good carb, no complaints. A complex, pleasant beer.
