Pours a clear gold with a small ring of foam and a sour lambic aroma. Tart green apples in the taste, notes of peach, pale malt, quite sour, very nice. Thin body with good carb, no complaints. A complex, pleasant beer.

(Draught) Sampled at the brewpub on October 17, 2007. Seemingly not part of their beer sampler which they SELECT 4 YOU. Decent creamy malted nose and undertones of spice. Pours a clear golden body with minor carbonation (nitro?), foamy off-white head. Is this really 9% - good cover. Very smooth and malty flavour with a vanilla speck.

Bottle tasted at Party Source from shigadeyo. Poured hazy amber with an moderate frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate yeasty sour citrus aroma. Medium body. Medium complex bittersweet citrus flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol finish of moderate duration.

Draft at the brewpub. Fruity, estery, grainy aroma, dusty and sweet, some pear and light melon here, along with peppery spice and dried, leafy, herbal notes. Clear pale golden yellow color, head is fine and white, lacing sparsely clings to the glass. Flavor is a melange of malt sweetness, fruit, spice and bitterness, with alternating suggestions of honey, light breadiness, tropical fruitiness, peppery spice and herbal, leafy hop touches. Prickly and very gently warming mouthfeel, finish is quite long and dries out somewhat. Nice combination of flavors, but could be integrated a bit better, ultimately, seeming a bit disparate.

On Draught at College Inn - Clear straw color, with a light white head that last a few minutes. A Belgian glass would likely allow the head to remain longer. Good lace however. Sweet estery aroma. Nice Belgian flavor, (Westmalle yeast)? Lots of spicy hops, medium body melts to a dry finish. I love that it is not cloying like so many American triples. Pike web site lists it as 9% alc. (www.pikebrewing.com) Overall an extremely pleasant tripel.
