Nice golden color. Spicy aroma. Flavor is dominated by cloves, but surprisingly not in a bad way. Slight banana/fig taste. I suppose for a ’Northwest’ Tripel, the hops are at par, but strong for this style. That’s a nice touch, actually. Definitely a Tripel, but the 9% is well hidden. Given that this is Pike’s only Belgian (as far as I know...) I’m impressed. Price is reasonable @ $4.99 for 22 oz.

Draught at the Pike Brewing Co, Seattle, WA Clear golden color with a small white head. Yeast, bitterness, toffee sweetness and dryish malt in the aroma. The flavor is yeast, hoppy bitterness, dryness and malt. Belgian yeast is dominating. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Weer een poging om een Belgische tripel na te maken. Deze keer is het wel een beetje gelukt.

Bottle courtsey of Baz and Jude (cheers you two!) consumed at Thistledown Farm campsite Saturday12th September 2015. Sat drinking this by the outside fire, weather is glorious, clear skies, lots of stars a wonderful evening to top off a great day. A little spicy yeast on nose (then mouth) in the flickering light of the fire this looks mid gold with a slim white head. A touch boozy but also fruity, have to say we were not overly impressed with this, it hasn’t got a lot going on. Got bored of this and couldn’t wait to get onto the next beer. A6 A3 T6 P2 Ov12 2.9

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (basement), with light notes of gum, pepper, and concrete. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy texture, moderately alcoholic. Solid enough, though it doesn’t have a ton of Belgian character...hops are most prominent, with phenolics under that, but it’s certainly a pleasant nose. Not terribly flavorful in the mouth, and kinda light and watery for the style, so it’s not much to drink. So yeah, kinda out of style but not bad.

Lots of citrus and pretty in-your-face for a tripel. Kind of a mash tang finish in here. Pours golden amber with ok head. Some florals, though mash citrus kind of outweighs it. A fair amount of resin. Bottle.

Bomber from Roth’s. Hazy golden in color. Nose is yeasty with a bit of grain. A touch of sweetness as well. Dry and yeasty up front. A little bit of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Dry yeasty, lightly sweet tripel with a slight hint of alcohol.

It looked good, and smelled pretty nice, but this one just didn't do it for me. If you want something with a nice kick though, the 9% alcohol / volume will get you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
