3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AlabastorJones (800) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 13, 2003
Hopppy, slightly citrus aroma, not cloudy in the least, amber color, nice white head, the flavor is based primarily on hops, which is good, but it could use a little something more, all and all its pretty ok.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sham (1845) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 9, 2003
Pours amber, small head, with no lacing of course. Aroma is sweet malt and hops, trying to put my finger on the hops though. Almost reminds me of the IPA a little. A little mediciney. More of the same in the flavors. This just reminds me of the IPA but like they didn't try as much.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slick (1971) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - SEP 7, 2003
Slightly cloudy amber color, small white head that left a slight lacing on the sides.Light malt aroma with a fairly strong hop presence and slight spicy tone to it.The feel is thin but for a taste it is semi-sweet with a decent hopping and slight bitterness to it.the after taste is mildly citrus and mildly hopped,Fairly decent brew and worth the shipping it took to get it here.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BarePaw (148) - Pullman, Washington, USA - JUL 9, 2003
This is a very drinkable beer, with a nice malty flavor. However, it isn't anything spectacular as far as ales go.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5466) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUL 7, 2003
Clear bronze color with moderate carbonation and retentive head. Aroma has slight hops and malt, nothing stands out too much, this is a session ale after all. Flavor is very bland and needs a little dry hopping. Palate is wet, bitter and refreshing. This is a standard ale, nothing spectacular, kind of sublime.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JUL 4, 2003
Another wonderful session beer. Nothing really stands out in the aroma, not very balanced in the carbonation, with a grapefruit like taste with a nice hoppy kick in the mouth. Good flavor all the way through to the end. Light and easy to drink.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (7064) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 28, 2003
Ruby copper hue. Mellow apple juice aroma. Good carbonation feeling on the tongue, with mellow malts showing up, and a small hop kick at the end. One of the better amber ales.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Suttree (4498) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 27, 2003
Words like "refreshing" and "lightly hopped", when they appear in the brewers description, are usually code words for "lame". This was a pleasent surprise. There was a persistant hop presence, and a grainy malt flavor. In this case Pike's signature sour/tart finish serves the beer well. Not bad at all.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kyzr (1140) - Belgrade, Montana, USA - APR 22, 2003
Light fruit on the aroma and flavor. Good thick amber color to it. First hit of flavor was the malt, with a finish that is slightly bitter. Like someone said before, the bottle dosen't do it justice, its much better drinking on tap right up from Pikes street market.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 19, 2003
A slightly beclouded amber color on the pour, the head portly in size, frothy in texture and the color an off white, with the residual lace a thin sheet to cover the glass. Aroma of the hops, sweet malt, a bit or a hint of pineapple? Start is sweet and loaded with malt, the top skimpy in feel, finish is lightly acidic, the hops present but mild, dry aftertaste, not sure this beer will get much from me, seems a bit thin-waisted as in watery.
