This is a credible but slightly failed experiment--to create a session ale that satisfies someone whoíd rather be drinking an IPA. Theyíve tried to give it hop punch, a little body and malt, while keeping the alcohol down. It almost works. The hops are definitely present, a nice peppery zip, and the malt is trying--if not succeeding--at holding up its end. The whole thing finishes badly, though, with a hollow, tinny flavor, the hops fading to an unpleasantly harsh note with nothing to hold them up.

1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
I wish I had a date on this and I realize Iím somewhat apprehensive about saying something, but I figure Iíll say something and hopefully try to get fresher someday.
This was poured into a pint glass every time.
The appearance was light clear golden yellow to orange color with a nice transparency about it. There was a nice two finger white foamy head that dissipated rapidly into oblivion. The lacing concaves at the top and follows the beer as it goes down.
The smell, well, I honestly didnít get what everyone before me got as there really isnít any aroma whatsoever to this beer. Thereís nothing, no hops, no malts, no nothing.
The taste once again, honestly, thereís no sweetness, no bitterness, no nothing.
On the palate, this is pretty light for the most part and shows a great sessionability. What carbonation - not there whatsoever.
Overall, honestly I hate to do this, but Iím not exactly sure what Iím drinking right now, so uh....I would only ever have this again if I could find it on tap or if Pikeís started putting on dates on their beers. Iíve had better Blonde Ales.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear brilliant gold under a nice foamy white head. Nose is delightfully grassy and bitter-forward with a earthy peppery malt backbone. Big full grassy and noble hop character right up front with a smooth earthy pale malt finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Malt and hops, hops drying out the finish. Clear golden body, with airy head, aroma of bread, crackers, mostly malt characteristics. Taste is malt again, hops kick in on the back plane, drying it out at the finish. Very crisp and clean beer, but not as smooth and velvety as some of the British or Belgian varieties.

Tap. Pours a clear gold body with a one finger frothy white head. The nose is nice bready malt with some fresh floral hops and a little fruitiness. The flavor is much hopper than expected, nice floral and citrus notes with moderate bitterness and soft pale bready malt. Lengthy bitter finish. Light bodied with a very thirst quenching soft mouthfeel and gentle fizzy carbonation. Among the best Golden Ales Iíve had.

9/26/2012. Sampled at the brewery. Golden yellow with a white head. A lot more malt and hops than your regular golden ale. Fruity flavors with a nice bitter finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear golden. Crisp and dry for a pale ale. Bitter and hoppy as expected in the pac west. Med bodied and full throughout. Nice balance, but too dry in the finish for me.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Bevmo: Appeared as a slightly hazed golden blond color with fat foamy heading that retreats leaving behind nothing. Aroma is minor with only a presence of grassy hops and faint scents of grain. The flavor is organic and tasty earthy but it taste to much like a juiced up pale lager with extra amounts of cheap hops and grain.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Burnt orange champagne like bubbles. Very piney and Christmas tree like. Has a lot of spruce tip notes. Taste is very west coast pale ale. Sort of an overpowering maltiness bit An intense bitter resinous mouthfeel. Lingers for hours
