A little bit of nuttiness and citrus in the aroma and some bitterness in the flavor but overall this brew was rather bland.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 01.09.14. A: See through rust color. No head. Some opaqueness at top. S: Sweet malt. Caramel. Picking up black olive too. T: Caramel, burnt toast, black olive. M: Crisp. O: The black olive flavor prompted a drain pour. Almost every beer that I’ve had from Pike has ended the same way and they’re local to me. Maybe they have QC issues.

beastiefan2k (2830) - Emerald City (formely NYC & KS), Washington, USA - SEP 18, 2014
Sampler at the brewpub. Darker golden color, clear. Earthy musty hops on nose. British musty mold yeast character. Hops brighter on palate. I would prefer less mustiness and cleaner, brighter flavor.

Aroma of hops, caramel color with a lasting well laced head. Chalky taste with a hint of hops, creamy feel chalky finish.
