dkoonce (879), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Oct 29, 2009 Medium body, with a deeper color. This beer was a bit sour. Perhaps it was aged too long. Lubiere (4440), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 18, 2009 A dark amber ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, restrained hops, heavier on caramel malt. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with butterscotch, veering on an Irish Red, nutty, German like hops. Interesting. On tap at brewpub, Sept. 12 2009. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 3, 2009 Good light hop aroma. The flavor is pretty normal for the style, but as hoppy as I’d expected. gracefullypunk (272), Washington, USA Sep 22, 2009 Pours a light amber with a thin head and some lace. Barely any smell, just a hint of citrus and caramel. Taste is mild with some toasted malt and slight bitterness. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2009 ok, as mr.slowrunner pointed out, this is their heirloom amber. pike can suck it for calling this a pale, is it bad, no, but this is a weak "pale".. . pours a light tan gold. . very light foam .. . light bitterness, needs more everything though.. . thinking sucks.. . bought at Gabriels in SA on friday sept 18th ’09 bulldogops (153), Alberta, Canada Sep 12, 2009 Bottle. 5.3%. Clear amber pour, deep copper/red with a weak tan head, little retention. Aroma was nutty, and sweet malts. Taste was very grainy and bland. Not extremely hoppy at all, a lot of malt and grain in the taste, but fairly smooth on the finish. A drinkable ale, but nothing that stands out. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA Sep 8, 2009 I got more malt and less hops than I would have liked. Orange color with a white head. Aroma of earthy pine tree scent. Flavor is sweet with a dry finish. I guess it is balanced, but I’m not sure that anything stands out about this one. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 4, 2009 Sweet nearly nonexistance flavor. Suprised this is favored in comparisonto the nellies.
The beer has an almost fruity aroma the almost any aroma I could find. The flavor isn’t much stronger. Leaves a lot to be desired
