| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Draft at brewpub. Pours copper with a creamy off white retentive head. Aroma is so faint that it was hard for me to pull out any distinct aromas. Medium bodied but slightly thin on texture. Mild caramel malt and fruity flavor countered by a bitter dry finish. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Aug 4, 2007 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of mild hops hops and nutty. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. Need caramel in the flavor. Nate (2538), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Draught sample and cask sample at brewpub. This is the average of those two sample, with the cask version being quite a bit nicer than standard tap. Draught sample. Fruity hops with fresh aroma. Muted roasted grain and light caramel. Amber orange clear with foamy lacing head. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Good acidity, crisp hoppiness to start. Light toasted grains and little sweetness. Finish is a dry bitter with a tangy malt character. Nutty dry bitter after. 6,4,7,4,15 Cask sample. Fresh hops and floral aroma, fruity and dry hopped. Same appearance, with medium body and little carbonation. Mild flavor. Bit of woodiness. Great nutty character with fresh grassy hops. Smooth and soooo drinkable. Fruity with oak and very smooth after. Really nice on cask! 7,4,8,5,17 robforbes (1090), Bremerton, Washington, USA

on tap at pike pub in seattle.
pours a clear amber with a small white head, some lacing.
smell of roasted hops and nuts and a little grassy near the end.
taste is a bit different than the normal pale ale, nutty in flavor, slightly creamy, some caramel, not that bitter and slightly sweet. troopie (868), USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 Malty aroma. Interesting. Clearly taste like it has brett yeast in it. Hmmm, why haven’t any other rates mentioned this???? Did somebody pour an Orval in my pale ale? Really dry, fruity and very flowery. Don’t detect any nutty maltiness that the bottle claims. Don’t like brett yeast flavor so I won’t drink again but I can recognize a decent brew and this one is. I won’t hammer it just b/c it’s not for me.
