Bit of chlorine, some discreet malts and a hint at diacetyl. Som good aroma hops, resting over sweet restsugars and malts; Light but not empty, slightly sticky MF. Unobtrusive, non-ambitious ale, but OK for session purposes. Malakin (465), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Pretty standard for a northwest pale ale, boring maltyness underneath with some nice hop flavour. It’s also a little dry, seems to build up after a while. sandygoonie (27), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2006 Classic American plae ale. One of my standards and a great session beer for me. Night orange/brown hue with tight carbonation and a small head. Smells grainy with a good amount of hops. In the bottle this is bottle conditioned which is great! Taste is hoppy and slightly malty with a biscuity and cracker like undertone. Just an all around great brew on tap or in the bottle. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Flavour shows more hoppiness than the nose would suggest. Moderate bitterness. Sweetish caramel finish. Pretty boring though. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2005 Bottle: A clear, amber brown with a dirty white head that remains all the way to the end. The thick stripes of sticky lacing towards the bottom of the cup are nice as well. The aromas that I noticed were mainly a lemony hops and junipers. I agree with the commercial description on the well balanced character. I liked the hoppy taste with a bitter trailer aftertaste, but it had the malt balance to keep it from going any further. Personally, I prefer a little more hops (like Mirror Pond), but Pike Brewery has done a good job going for the balance. It is thin, but not watery, so it still has a slightly creamy feel. This would make a good session beer. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
