| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 19, 2004 Tap@Pike. A fairly easy going pale ale. Aromatic hops of course. Some toast and toffee, with a lemony finish, a bit more English than American? Pretty spot on as far as pale ales go, just not overly interesting. MrDick (277), San Francisco, California, USA

Not too interesting but easy to drink. GoldenCrown (18), Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 31, 2004 Weak aroma. A cloudy dark amber. The taste is listless with a sharp alcoholic/metallic bite at the end. The aftertaste lasts 10 secs. Both the bite and the aftertaste are rather unpleasant. omnivore (270), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2004 Pours a ruddy topaz color with particulate floaters. White lacy head evaporates quickly. Mellow aroma hinting at maltyness. Nice smooth flavor that comes on with a even malt sweetness and is followed up by the roasted nutty flavors, and the gentle hoppy finish. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 28, 2004 Pours a dark copper color with decent head and no lacing.
Smell has an aluring sweetness to it that I can't place (honey and cloves?). Malt and hops are certainly there.
Taste isn't like SN's or most other West Coast PAs. It reminds more more of an English Bitter, I'm thinking Blue Bird with more flavor and just a bit more hops. Cascades make an appearance.
Mouthfeel is really good and has the Pike mineral feel to it. Drinkability is quit good.
And awesome beer that escaped my notice for far too long.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 19, 2004 A sweet spiced caramel apple aroma. Not much hop presence up front, with most flavor of caramel, cinnamon and apple coming out in mid drink and lasting long into a dry finish. Wow... the finish really resembles apple crisp.. very interesting.
